About
Inverter Conversion
of energy from one form to another is a natural Phenomenon. The
primary important factor is the efficiency of Conversion. The second
most important is the cost of conversion And maintanence of system .
As an example the steam engine is only 10% efficient in converting
heat energy into mechanical motion. If running cost is added the
efficiency would be as low as 2%.The most efficient energy conversion
is to electrical energy with an efficiency about 60%. Generally
electrical energy is distributed as alternating current which is the
most economical in terms of generation and distribution . All most
all equipments are designed to work with this alternating current.
Storing of electrical energy is only in the form of direct current
in the cell . A number of cells constitute a battery .This stored
energy can be reconverted to alternating current to run electrical
equipments . The conversion should be very efficent and at the same
time suitable to operate electrical equipments. All equipments we use
are designed to operate on Sinusoidal alternating current and voltage
of 230 volt , frequency of 50 hertz. Any deviation in the supplied
voltage or frequency has deterimental effect on the electrical
equipments. The operating life of the equipment is reduced or may
result in failure of the equipments in a short duration or Over the
period of time.
Electronic generators or
Inverters convert direct electrical current to alternating current
from stored energy in the batteries . When the utility mains
supplied by EB is present the electrical equipments are made to run
on them , the storage battories are charged and in stand by mode ,
any failure of the utility mains would result in instant change over
to the generator mode from the stored energy of the batteries.
The Inverter The
system converts direct current to alternating current by means of
electronic solid state devices and at an efficiency of 90%, the
output alternating current is precise 230 volt and accurate 50 HZ and
can run any domestic equipment. The system is provided with automotic
voltage feed back and sensing circut to maintain constant voltage .
The system can be operated both in manual or automatic mode as
required , by means of the inverter switch . Keeping the inverter
switch on makes the unit autometic . It may be noted that unlike
conventional fuel operated generators , the operation of the system
in battery mode is directly proportional to the load connected and
working . As an example if the equipment operates on 50% of the rated
load the backup duration would double.
Battery Charging The
storage battery equipped with the electronic generator or inverter
have a storage capacity determined in terms of AH of the batteries .
The different capacities & types of batteries have to be charged
and discharged up to a maximum limit as specified in the
manufacturers specification . This is to ensure optimum performance
by the storage batteries. The type of charging, the voltage, the
current, the ac ripple, the maximum permissible discharge voltage,
the discharge rate, the ageing of the battery with usage, all
contribute to the performance of the heart of the system –
batteries . As is clear , battery charging and battery selection is
no simple matter when performance and life is the main criteria . Our
systems employ a constant voltage constant current charger with
current limiting technology – the best by any standards . The
system can charge any AH & type of battery.
