Maxwell is the leading manufacturer of Involute Gear Cutters (Gear Milling Cutters) in the industry. The prices of our milling cutters like sprocket milling cutters and spline milling cutters are quite competitive.
Involute Gear Cutters are machine form relieved - the profile remains constant throughout cutter life, provided that on re-shapening, the face of the tooth is ground Radial-to-Centre.
For sizes 12 Module and larger, it is possible for greater accuracy to order sets of 15 including 1/2 cutter sizes 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 and 7.5. Such sets are priced pro rata. All sizes above 9 module and many of the metric bore cutters, are made to order.

For spur gears with a 14-1/2° or 20° pressure angle

Form relieved to allow resharpening many times without changing the form
