High Voltage expulsion type D.O. fuse are used extensively for the protection of feeders and transformers. ?Mayur? Fuse elements are suitable for High Voltage expulsion type D.O. fuse units. They are inserted through the carrier tube and hold the switch in its latcoed position while they are intact. When the fuse element melts, the latcoed trigger is released and allows the switch to swing down to the isolated position.
The main function is to breaks power circuit within calculated/stipulated time while passing calculated overload in Distribution Transformer/Feeder Tap lines. We must think on this main function as our ?Langer? system is fulfilling this function? In India, on average, 99 % of Distribution Transformers and Feeder Tap lines are operating with substandard ?Langers? D.O. system. In this situation, we must have to concentrate our full attention to improve this substandard D.O. ?Langers? system. |

Strength test: This test carried out in accordance with standard. In this case a load of 1.0 kg applied for 1 minute to element vertically without any damaged. Result: SATISFACTORY. Trail Rating: Tinned stranded copper flexible wire rope having 37SWG/42 wires used. Result: SATISFACTORY. Marking: A label with marking of rated current, trade mark, and voltage, fixed on the end of trail. Result: SATISFACTORY. Temperature Rise Test (According to IS: 9385/ 80-II, CL 4 -5): At 30.0C Room Temp, a load of 5A is applied continuously to 6 No of ‘Mayur’11/22 KV D.O. fuse elements respectively and found maximum temperature at terminal point is 75.0 C i.e. temperature rise is 45.0C found within specified limit. Result: SATISFACTORY. Time/Current Test (According to IS: 9385/ 80-II, CL 4-7): Another 6 No of ‘Mayur’11/22 KV D.O. fuse elements are tested within load of 100% to 150% rated Amp and its time & current at breaking time noted. All elements are breaks within 30 minute on over load of 30% to 50% on rated current. Result: SATISFACTORY. Fuse elements Amp rating tests are conducted at 110%, 135% and 200% of rated current as per IS Standard clause 198-2-6 (A) At 110% Amp of rated load, maximum temperature rise allow is 50 C on above room temperature at the trail end. (B) All fuse elements, (1) must open at 135 to 150% Amp of rated load within 1 Hour. (2) must open at 200% Amp of rated load within 5 minutes. If it takes more and more time, selection of fuse elements is poor. Own Testing: Our ‘Mayur’ D.O. fuse elements are tested for temperature rise test, over load breaking test, Mechanical Strength test & physical tests on random basis in our own testing laboratory, which is fully equipped with power loader, current meter, temperature meter, testing instruments. Besides, our ‘Mayur’ D.O. fuse elements are duly tested by the recognized test house, C.S.I.O. - CHANDIGARH.

Our ?Mayur? D.O. fuse elements are tested by The Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, CHANDIGARH as per IS: 9385/ 80-II standard.
Strength test: This test carried out in accordance with standard. The specified loading is as under,
