With our in-depth industry knowledge in the respective field, we offer a wide range of Water Based Semi Permenant Release Coating. These water based mold release agents, water based release coating, water based semi permanent release coating, water soluble lubricants are used as release coatings for molding rubber compounds including EPDM, NBR, SBR, polyurethanes and fluroelastomers and fiber / resin composites due to the excellent adhesive properties to various substrates. Apart from this, our range is also known some other properties like heat resistance, dry, clean, colorless and non-oily coating and high lubricity.

Water Based Semi Permenant Release Coating

Water Based Semi Permenant Release Coating

We manufacture and supply an extensive range of Water Based Semi Permenant Release Coating. These MAC 797 water emulsion forms clear and colorless coatings and has antistick characteristics. Due to the excellent adhesive properties to various substrates, these are used as release coatings for molding rubber compounds. These molding rubber compounds includes EPDM, NBR, SBR, polyurethanes and fluroelastomers and fiber / resin composites, including epoxy, polyester, thermoplastic and thermoset resins and fiberglass laminates. The proper application of these coatings helps in achieving maximum number of releases per the application. We offer these coatings in 5 liters and 20 liters plastic containers to meet our client’s specific requirements.

How to use

  • Applied to hot or cold mold but preheating of the mold to 200OF facilitates the evaporation of water thus enhancing the coating effect
  • After applying two coats the mold should be heated to 300OF or higher and held for at least five minutes to effect curing of the release film
  • To prevent any hazardous effects of MAC 797 safety glasses should be used and gloves should be worn
  • These should be properly stored at normal temperature and covered properly to avoid evaporation

Properties
:

  • Heat resistance
  • Dry, clean, colorless and non-oily coating
  • Multiple releases per application
  • No interference with post molding operations
  • Doesn’t cause knit lines
  • Usable up to 550OF
  • High lubricity

Key Performance Properties

• Excellent adhesion to Substrates.

• High lubricity for improved flow properties.

• Clean, dry, colorless, non-oily coating.

• No transfer.

• Multiple releases per application.

• No interference with post molding operations.

• Will not cause knit lines.

• Good heat resistance and stability.

• Usable up to 290°C.

Application Method

MAC 797 should be applied as received to clean, dry moulds. It can be applied to hot or cold mould, but preheating the mould to at least 100°C will facilitate evaporation of the water. Proper application of release coating will help achieve the maximum number of releases per application.

After cleaning the mould with a suitable solvent or an abrasive cleaner to remove previous release agents or other contamination, a finely atomized, light, even spray should be applied to the mould, and after allowing the water to evaporate, second coat should be applied. The mould should then be heated to 150°C or higher and held for at least five minutes to effect curing of the release film. For touch-up. MAC 797 should be sprayed as a fine mist to the hot mould.
