MEGA ELECTRONICS Co., has formulated a QUALITY CONTROL/ QUALITY ASSURANCE programme, which is based upon : 

i) The requirements applicable as per the Joint Services Specifications on the 
   company product,

ii) The requirements as per the International Standards on quality systems,

The programme has formulated a Quality System Manual, along with a Procedure Manual.

The Quality Assurance Programme encompasses:

i) Procedure for selection of raw materials and vendor,

ii) Procedure for evaluation of incoming material, identification, storage and issue,

iii) Process of establishing manufacturing methods, machinery, and man power,

iv) Formulation and implementation of in-process as well as final stage inspection 
    and/ or verification process including identification, procurement, maintenance 
    and calibration of test and measuring instruments, 

v) Periodical and as well as customer specified evaluation of products, to ensure 
    compliance with applicable specifications towards its behavior under various 
    environmental conditions both static and dynamic, viz.:

        a) Physical stresses like pull/ axial loads,
        b) Physical stresses like acceleration, bump, impact, vibration etc.,
        c) Climatic stresses like temperature - low and high, humidity low (dry) 
            and high (wet),
        d) Atmospheric stresses like dust, corrosion at external evaluation 
            laboratories.


The company has evolved a suitable documentation procedure to ensure implementation of all the planned activities connected with the Quality Assurance Programme.

We have the complete plant and machinery and also the requisite testing and measuring and Quality Control/ Quality Assurance instruments, to manufacture "MEGA" Wirewound Resistors as per the requirement of each and every customer.

To wind high accuracy Wirewound Resistors, we have fully automatic C.N.C. controlled resistance winding machines and automatic/ semi automatic resistance winding machines. Miniature Spot Welders are used to ensure permanent and low resistance bond between the tin plated copper caps and the resistance wires.

Good quality Ovens, with accurate temperature controllers are used to cure the Coated/ Ceramic encased Wirewound Resistors. 

To ensure that every resistor of "MEGA" brand, meets the highest standards, the resistors are subjected to on-line checking, random checking, batch checking, and one hundred percent checking.

Meters like Milli-Ohm Meters, Ohm Meters, Power Supplies, H.V.Break Down Testers, Insulation Resistance Testers, Bridges are used for evaluation in our Quality Control/ Quality Assurance departments. These measuring meters are regularly calibrated.

The out standing features of "MEGA" Wirewound Resistors are:

1. Smooth, well polished ceramic cores having a high di-electric strength, high alumina content, high density and low porosity are used as substrates for winding and encasing.

2. Soft annealed electro-tinned copper wire of 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 mm or 1.5 mm diameter is used as leads, with the lead length ranging from 20 mm to 38 mm. Spring steel or Brass plates of 0.8 mm thickness and 4 mm to 6 mm width is used as Tags, and 5 mm copper rods for aluminum housed power resistors.

3. Best Nickel-Chromium or Copper-Nickel Alloy wire is used for winding. These wires have the ability to withstand excessive overloads under severe working conditions.

4. The junctions between the resistance wires and the leads are spot welded to give a permanent and low resistance bond.

5. The axial and radial lead type resistors are coated with multi coats of high temperature withstanding Silicon based Epoxy. 

6. The marking on the resistor is permanent and is unaffected by any solvents.

7. They have high power to size ratio.

The Temperature Co-efficient of Resistance (TCR) ranges from 20 ppm/ ⁰C 
    to 200 ppm/ ⁰C. 

Di-electric Voltage : 700 V AC to 1,000 V AC.

Insulation Resistance : 1000 Mega Ohms-dry for Silicon Epoxy coated type 
    and 10,000 Mega Ohms-dry for Ceramic Encased Type.

Stability : + 5 % after 1,000 hours of load test.

Damp Heat : H 13 (JSS 50402) + 1 % shelf life.

Power derating : Linearly to zero at maximum hot spot temperature of 350⁰C 
    Power ratings mentioned at 70⁰C.

Moisture resistance : 2 %.
