Grating & Kerb Gullies
| It must be remembered that the efficiency of a drainage depends not only upon the water way of the grating profile and the intermediate passage way but also upon the size/ design of the outlet. As with manhole covers, those gratings that will be subjected to fast moving heavy traffic should be of non-rocking design. In other traffic areas choice is offered between captive and non-captive hinged gratings. In areas prone to vandalism the captive hinge design has particular attraction. Further choice is available between end and alternatively side hinged gratings, problems are often encountered in supermarket car parking areas and the like when trolley wheels and shots of the drainage grids. To overcome this situation the mesh grating has been incorporated. |
