nd OCTOBER, 2008. The Silent Features of these Rules include, that The owner or manager or in charge of affairs of every place of public work or use shall display and exhibit a board of
30 X 60 cm at a conspicuous place or places in and outside the premises visited or used by general public prominently starting that the place is
A, "No Smoking Zone" And that "Smoking here is an Offence".Smoking is strictly prohibited in all Public Places includes :

Any violation of this act is a punishable offence with a fine upto
Rs.200.
The Owner, Proprietor, Manager, Supervisor or in charge of the affairs of a public places shall ensure that :
a) No person smokes in the public place (under his jurisdiction / implied)
b) The board as specified in schedule – II shall be of a minimum size of 60 x 30 cm of white background with a warning
“No Smoking Area – Smoking Here is an Offence”, in English or one Indian language, as applicable. The board shall be displayed prominently at the entrance(s) of the Public Place and in case there are more than one entrance at each such entrance and conspicuous place(s) inside. In case there are more than one floor, at each floor including the staircase and entrance to the lift/s at each floor.
c) No ashtrays, matches, lighters or other things designed to facilitate smoking are provided in the public place.
In strict adherence to the law, every above mentioned place requires to put such signages.
