Some of the machines and facilities used in our manufacturing plant are explained below:

Capping Machine

A High Speed Capping Machine GC – 880, the tin/nickel plated cold rolled steel caps are force fitted on the metallic ceramic core. The capping machine used is of high speed and suitable for all kinds of ceramic rods. Moreover, this machine consists of a 60-Pin consecutive rotary punching system and gear feeding devices. This increases the capping capacity and yield rate is developed significantly.

Test Sorting Machine

A single charge consists of large quantity of Ceramic Substrates when loaded for sputter coating. This results in a normal ohmic distribution around a nominal value, which need to be divided into narrower a range that helps in accurate trimming in the cutting process. The final value of the resistor is determined by this process.

Over the years, after a lot of empirical analysis, automatic resistor spiral cutting machine performance and evaluation data collected. This has provided our organization with an appropriate cutting factor chart for determination of the final value of resistor, which can be trimmed from an initial resistor value for achieving longer stability and higher stability of the product.

In the cutting process a diamond-slitting disc is used to cut a spiral (helical) groove is cut. Here in a controlled manner the resistor is displaced with a combination, while the slitting operation is still in the process. This cut increases the path and results in reduction in the cross sectional area by multiplying the resistors value multi folds.

High Speed Welding Machine

• Concentric hot dipped pure tinned copper (OFHC Electrolytic) leads (RoHS Compliant) are cut to specific length by this machine and spot welded to the resistor caps
• For the dimension and mechanical tests (tensile, torsion, bending, elongation & solder ability with and without aging),tinned copper wire is inspected
• Quality of welded resistor is tested to check weld joint strength. Further more these are inspected for centering, appearance and dimension of lead length on each side

Auto Coating & Taping Machine

This process is used for the following purpose:

• The encapsulation of the resistor body
• Application of color bands for identification of the value
• Belting/taping of the resistors

The belted welded resistors are de-taped by a de-taping head and put on a chain conveyor by this machine.

Metal Film vacuum Sputtering

The elements are carried by a thin resistive film in a thin film resistor. For regular, miniature or ultra miniature resistor type of requisite surface finish, a high grade Ceramic Core is selected on the basis of its alumina content. This is selected as a substrate for this thin film.

Inspection
