Calcium Stearate Chemical has various industrial applications. Ferro Calcium Stearate is used as water repellent and acid scavenger in polymers processing. - Installed capacity of 300 tons /month for precipitated grades and 1000 tons/month of fusion grades, total 1300 tons/month.
- Manufactured by first forming reacting stearic acid with causic lye to form a soap and then adding zinc , calcium or aluminium chloride or sulphate to it to precipitate the zinc , calcium or aluminium stearate and sodium chloride or sulphate is formed as a by product. All batches of stearic acid are tested for acid value and reaction stoichiometry is adjusted accordingly to ensure complete reaction and low free fatty acid contents ( we have grades with as low as 0.1 % free acid used in resins mfg and masterbatches ).
- Washing is done in fully automatic hydraulic PP recessed plate type filter presses at high washing pressure to ensure low levels of electrolytes / salts generated during reaction, by washing out the same .
- Fully temperature controlled automatic flash driers are used which ensure low moisture content of less than 1 % in precipitation and 0.5 % in fusion grades .
- Fully stainless stell MOC in all contact parts to ensure freedom from iron and other metallic impurities .
- Multiple stage heavy metal elaborate removal process ensures that the zinc or calcium or aluminium salt used is free completely from all heavy metals giving an excellent product for thermal stability in plastics, suitability for cosmetics and healthcare applications etc.
- Two roll mill for plastics is used to form compound and check thermal stability.
