At modern we manufacture power transformers of 3.15 MVA to 10 MVA conventional type three phase, 50 Hz, oil immersed, naturally cooled, double wound with copper, step-up / step –down, core type continuous duty transformers, designed to withstand short circuit and impulse test.

The temperature rise will be 40 / 50 c in oil / winding respectively over a maximum ambient temperature as per standards. The power transformers will be manufactured as per latest standards complete with fitting / accessories. These power transformers are free breathing type fitted with a conservator with breather for free breathing. The power transformers are filled with transformer oil and further fitted press steel radiators for cooling.

Power transformers is used between the generating plant and the power lines to step-up increase the transmission voltage decrease the transmission current.

All above rated transformers are type tested from various govt. approved test labs. Self protected type transformers are also available having protection on LV site. II. Three Phase Transformers:

At modern we manufacturer wide range of distribution transformers ranging from 25 KVA to 1000 KVA conventional type three phase, 50 Hz, oil immersed, naturally cooled, double wound with aluminum / copper, step-up / step –down, core type continuous duty transformers, designed to withstand short circuit and impulse test.

At Modern we have a well established quality system. Modern has a stringent incoming material and in-process quality plan:

• All radiators after assembly undergo a full dimensional check.
• All radiators are pressure tested at 2.5 Kg/cm2 individually under water for a period of one hour.
• After painting the paint thickness is measured on all radiators. Paint peal off test is performed on randomly selected radiators.

We manufacturer MS tanks for transformers. Our manufactured transformers tanks are readily accepted by leading manufacturers of transformers in India. These transformers tanks are manufactured by tested MS material procured form reputed manufacturers and fabricated with the help of most modern welding equipments to ensure best quality of welding.

We manufacture CRGO Lamination for transformers with following functionality:

• Slitting :- The CRGO steel is received in the form of coil and can be silted in the minimum  width of 5 mm and multiples of 5 mm. The cutters are frequently grinded to control the burr level.
• Shearing :-  The silted coil are sheared in the treadle shearing machine at an angle of 45 deg. & in case of mitered core and 90  deg in case of rectangular core. Utmost care is taken in grinding of the blades at specific interval of time   in order to minimize the burr level not exceeding than 10 micron.
• V-Notching :- The process of V-notching in the yoke plates of the stacked lamination are carried out in semi automatic power presses using dies made of tungsten carbide for achieving almost zero burr level.
• Stress Relieving Annealing :-  During the course of process the stresses developed in the stacked lamination tend to increase the losses and magnetizing current of the core. This is relieved by subjecting the lamination in roller hearth stress relieving  annealing furnace.
• Testing :- Random tests are conducted on sample of the CRGO Packing. The CRGO Lamination are packed on the wooden pallets and covered  by the water proof hessian cloth duly strapped in order to avoid damage to the core edges. Lamination for measurement of losses, insulation resistance, bend test, burr level etc.
