2011 Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX)
Five of the latest innovations from Moen Incorporated were selected to receive the 2011 Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX). Sponsored by Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers, ADEX awards are the largest recognition program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade. The ioDIGITAL™ Vertical Spa and ioDIGITAL Shower won Platinum ADEX Awards – the highest possible award level. Gold ADEX Awards were given to the Modern Pot Filler, the Method™ Bath Collection and the ioDIGITAL Roman tub with 90°™ trim.

Best of KBIS 2011
Of the more than 50 product submissions to the 2011 Best of KBIS competition, only eight were recognized by a media judging panel with the top honor – "Best of KBIS" – including the new Flushmount body sprays from Moen Incorporated. Flushmount body sprays received a Silver Award in the "Best of Bath" category, based on the criteria of functionality, quality/durability, flexibility, aesthetics/style and innovation. Flushmount body sprays fit cleanly against the wall, seamlessly blending in with tile, slate or other premium shower surround materials. In addition to the sleeker styling of the new body sprays, they also allow for simpler installation, saving time and money. Best of all, the adjustable spray face allows you to pivot the water up to 20 degrees in any direction.

2010 GOOD DESIGN™ Award
Founded in 1950, the GOOD DESIGN™ awards are the world's oldest awards program. The awards are conferred annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. GOOD DESIGN awards recognize the world's most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design. The Modern Pot Filler by Moen was selected for a 2010 GOOD DESIGN award in the kitchen/appliances category.

Sponsored by Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers, the ADEX awards are judged by an anonymous panel of professionals representing an array of industries whose products are included in the ADEX Awards. The ADEX panel identified ioDIGITAL™, the Envi™ rainshower and the Fina™ single-handle lavatory faucet from Moen as top designs based on a force-ranking of form, function and fitness for a particular purpose. Each ADEX category has the potential for three award levels: platinum, gold or silver. In 2010, Moen earned awards within the highest two award tiers – ioDIGITAL received a Platinum ADEX Award, whereas Envi and Fina received Gold ADEX Awards.

MOEN PROMOTES MARK KNUREK TO DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

North Olmsted, Ohio... Moen Incorporated is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Knurek to the position of director of marketing and product development for its Commercial business unit. The announcement was made by Tim Baker, vice president and general manager of the Commercial business unit.

In his new role, Knurek will be responsible for developing and championing the strategic direction of Moen Commercial's new product development process, focusing on products for heavy-duty construction, as well as those that meet WaterSense® criteria for performance and water efficiency. In addition, he will lead Moen Commercial's marketing programs, including advertising, public relations and direct marketing.

"Since Mark joined Moen in 2002, he has provided strong product development and brand leadership for Moen's residential business," said Baker. "He has a track record of enhancing Moen's product portfolio and leading strategic initiatives for several brands. We welcome Mark's expertise in this pivotal role in the Commercial business unit and look forward to the positive impact he will make on our team."

Prior to his new role, Knurek has had a successful career with Moen's wholesale business unit. He most recently served as senior brand manager for Moen's ShowHouse and Cleveland Faucet Group (CFG) brands. Previously, he was a senior product manager supporting marketing innovation with products such as Moen's first digital bath product, ioDIGITAL™, as well as several other products. Knurek also served as a group project manager for the wholesale business unit, where he led cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.

Knurek began his career at Eaton Corporation and also worked at Shiloh Industries prior to joining Moen. He has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance from Case Western Reserve University.
