Previously known as Raigarh Jute Mill, it was taken over by the Mohan Jute Group as the premier unit in the year 1989 and incorporated under the name of MOHAN JUTE MILLS LIMITED at Raigarh in the State of Chhattisgarh. The Mill was later fully modernized and now possesses the state-of-the-art equipments and technology. It has a total of 300 looms with production capacity of 50 M. Tons per day. The Mill employs about 1500 workmen and 70 official staff.

The Mill was set up to cater to both foreign and Indian markets. Its R & D department is dedicated to designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing of Geo-textiles and bio-degradable & eco-friendly natural fibers to suit to the Indian weather and soil conditions. To prevent the presence of Hydrocarbon in the jute products RBO (Rice Bran Oil) Technology is being implemented to produce Hydrocarbon Free Products in collaboration with IJIRA (Indian Jute Industries' Research Association), an organization under the Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India. The Mill has a most experienced Statistical Quality Control Department that helps in maintaining its repute in the world market by meeting the needs of the customers.

Board of directors Mr. P. K. Agarwal, is the main promoter of Mohan Jute Group Of Companies. Mr. Agarwal is an eminent personality in the jute industry arena of India and Bangladesh, the major jute producing nations of the world, with over 25 years of experience. He has set up, over the years, various jute manufacturing and trading companies in west bengal and Chhattisgarh, the major ones being Mohan Jute Mills Ltd., Mohan Jute Ltd., Mohan Jute Bags manufacturing co., central bag co. Ltd. And pacific jute ltd. The combined turnover of the group is about Rs. 60 crores in 2000-2001 which includes exports of Rs. 30 crores. With his aggressive and dedicated efforts, Mr. Agarwal has been able to build up a commendable rapport with overseas buyers all over the globe. He has single-handedly led the group to reach this height from a modest beginning about two decades back.

Mr. Agarwal is young, dynamic and has endeavoured hard to bring the ''golden fibre'' of the country into limelight which has suffered a lot over the last few decades owing to a host of social and political factors. Mr. Tuli Ram Agarwal founder member of "Mohan Group", father of Mr. Pawan kumar Agarwal, has been in the jute trade for the past 50 years and associated with mohan jute group of companies since inception as a director. His long experience in the industry will definitely help in the project to a great extent. Mr. Ajit kr. Dutta has been in jute trading for last 40 years and associated with mohan jute group of companies for last 20 years as a senior executive. Mr. Dutta is a senior personality in the industry. Over the years, he has gathered a considerable amount of experience in jute business and he is, currently, a director in few of the group companies. He is a great source of inspiration & support for the growth of the company.
