Ferro Aluminium

Ferro Aluminium metal casting as Stars, Notched Bars, Ingots are usually thrown to the molten steel bath for the purpose of de – oxidation. Aluminium instantly melts and reacts with dissolved oxygen to produce insoluble aluminium oxide and floats up the surface of the molyen steel bath making the bath oxygen free, but partly.

Actually, the use of aluminium alone has shown many problems of proper degassing of the whole liquid mass top to bottom. Because aluminium is very lighter compared to liquid iron, it can not sink (settle) in deeper regions of the molten steel bath in the ladle. So these deeper regions do not get properly gassed off oxygen and hence the improperly deoxydised steel rather unusable for may purposes.

This problem is usually overcome by alloying aluminium with Iron which makes much heavier enough to sink to the deepest region of the molten steel bath in the ladle, thus degassing the whole mass of the bath perfectly and properly. This alloy of iron & alumnium is ferro aluminium.

Ferro Manganese

manganese includes:


  • Manufacturing
    of Tool Steel ( up to 0.4% Mn.) & Structural Steels (upto 0.6%
    Mn.)

    of 18-8 Austenitic Non Magnetic Stainless Steel.


Manganese
has high affinity towards combining with sulphur present in steel
producing manganese sulphide(MnS) which again floats up the metal

Ferro Molybdenum

Ferro Molybdenum
We
manufacture and offer ferro molybdenum that is an alloying addition
which sharply raises the mechanical and physical properties of
steels. Addition of molybdenum ensures uniform micro-crystalline
structure in steel, augments its hardening ability and eliminates
post-temper brittleness.

Structural
Steels with 0.15 – 0.50 % Mo. possesses greater impact strength and
this is especially valuable for manufacture of such details as automobile shafts, gears, rolls etc. Molybdenum is widely used is the
manufacture of high speed steels which are used for various cutting
instruments like drill pits, milling cutters, cutting tools etc –
capable of withstanding high cutting speeds. The other usage includes
manufacturing of heat – resistant & acid resistant, stainless
steels & cryogenic steels.

Ferro Titanium

Ferro Titanium
We
manufacture and offer ferro titanium that is used in varied
industrial applications. Titanium metal has a high affinity towards
oxygen though lower in order than aluminium and zirconium. But along
with de oxidation, it has another unique advantage like affinity
towards the dissolved nitrogen gas in the molten steel and produces a
compound like titanium nitride (TiN) which again floats up the
surface of the bath liquid. The dissolved nitrogen is removed by the
use of titanium as ferro titanium.=

These
ferro titanium alloys are used as de oxidizer, de nitrogenator and
alloying element. It combines quickly with carbon & prevents
formation of chromium carbide (detrimental) in the manufacture of
stainless steel and heat resistant steel to improve its welding
qualities and corrosion resistance.

The
