Chevron conveyor belts are used primarily when the angle of incline becomes too steep for a smooth conventional conveyor belt. The belt is composed of belt carcass and patterns or cleats. Shape and the height (depth) of the cleats could be different because of different gradient of conveyor and also to allow the carrying of varied types of materials from bulk solids to unit loads.

All "MrBelts" chevron conveyor belts are produced with integrally moulded profiles in belt's top cover during manufacture. The shape of the chevron profiles has been carefully designed. It is economically viable to use a heat resistant belt if the temperature of the material to be carried is over 60° C (40° F). Normal Conveyor belts may be damaged by heat, developing cracks or abrasion through stiffening or softening of the cover rubber. It may also cause separation between plies or between rubber and ply.
