An electrical contact of the tulip type for receiving legs of an integrated circuit or similar component. The contact has a tubular body produced by cold forming and has two parallel walls of small thickness through which are punched two tabs of substantially rectangular shape. The tabs face each other and converge towards the bottom of the tubular body. The walls of small thickness are connected by walls of larger thickness. When mounted in an insulating block, the contacts are oriented with the thinner walls parallel to the longitudinal axis of the block, and the longer side of the legs of the component to be received in the block are similarly arranged.

MSS India is the world's largest manufacturer of bolted cell pillars for use in both BS and DIN standard traction cells with current output at approximately 5 million bolted pillars per year. MSS India supply a range of pillars from large to small in a variety of different lead alloys from 12% antimony to 4% antimony content. The pillars are all cast with a very high quality / high strength brass insert. These inserts can be cast in the plain brass finish or with a copper and tin electroplated finish depending on customer specification. As well as the standard dimensional checks, pillars, supplied are rigorously tested for porosity, torque test, for the bonding of the insert and for surface finish.
