Ammonia Cracker Hydrogen Generator

Ammonia Cracker Hydrogen Generator
MVS has been manufacturing and supplying very reliable and efficient Ammonia Cracking Units for over three decades. Our experience and knowledge of Ammonia Crackers is the best in the industry and we are looked upon as the industry leaders for these type of Hydrogen generators.

Ammonia Cracking technology:
Ammonia Cracking Hydrogen generators are Catalytic cracking units in which Ammonia (NH3) is disassociated to Hydrogen and Nitrogen.
  • 2NH3 = 3H2 + N2
Refrigeration grade Ammonia is from cylinders or tanks is used as feed. The product gas has 75% Hydrogen and 25% Nitrogen. This gas is further purified in a Molecular Sieves unit by removing un-cracked Ammonia and moisture.
  • Low Investment and operating cost: Investment in such Hydrogen gas generator is very low. Additionally, as very little electrical power is required for its operating, the cost of Hydrogen produced is also very low. Both of these factors allow the user to recover the investment cost on MVS Ammonia crackers very quickly.
  • Rugged modular construction: MVS incorporates the use of skids and designing these plants in a modular construction. This feature allows easy transportation and easy installation of the system at your site. Our engineer is present at site to oversee installation and also to assist with commissioning and training of your personnel. The rugged construction allows these units to withstand harsh operating conditions and require very minimal maintenance for its smooth operation.
  • Turnkey execution: We execute turnkey projects and custom design these Ammonia Cracking units as per customer capacity requirements. At the foundation of each project is a very robust design that has stood the test of time and is very well proven technology today.

Membrane Nitrogen Generator

Membrane Nitrogen Generator
MVS Membrane Nitrogen generators are increasingly being used in the market for a variety of applications and as the membrane technology is maturing, Membrane based generators are finding wide spread acceptance.

Membrane principle: The Nitrogen separation Membrane is a cylindrical bundle of hollow fiber fine tubes made from polymer material. Each bundle contains several million fibers. Air enters at one end and flows to the opposite end through the fiber bore. In essence, the membranes act like a filter with no moving parts and continuously generate nitrogen at selected flow rate and purity.

Pressurized air is fed through one end of the Membrane. Gas separation takes place through fiber wall. Fast permeating gases such as Oxygen, CO2 and water vapor quickly diffuse through the fiber wall and exit at atmospheric pressure through the vent port on the outer side of the Membrane separator. Nitrogen being a slower gas does not permeate through the fiber wall as quickly under flowing conditions and is collected as the Nitrogen product gas. It flows down the bore of the fiber and exits at 0.3 to 1 Bar lower than the pressure of the inlet compressed air.

Features:

Fast startup and Simple Operation: MVS Membrane Nitrogen Plants can be turned on and off on-demand with the push of a single button. They only require 5 minutes to start producing high purity nitrogen and there isn’t a need for the unit to be running when you are not consuming nitrogen. This is unlike the cryogenic systems where the unit has to be kept running whether needed or not.

Low Maintenance (no moving parts):
Unlike other Nitrogen generation technologies, Membrane Nitrogen plants in themselves have no moving parts and require minimal maintenance. The feed air cleaning system is the most critical part of the Membrane Nitrogen generator. The membranes require very clean air in order to operate at full efficiency and also to prevent performance deterioration over time. Hence, the filters need to be checked, cleaned, replaced as per MVS recommended maintenance schedule.

Compact & Lightweight:
Amongst the various Nitrogen generation technologies, Membrane Nitrogen Generators are the most compact and lightweight. As a matter of fact, smaller capacity Membrane Nitrogen generators including the air compressor can be totally housed in a single panel box with a very small footprint and can be easily kept anywhere on your shop floor.

Fully integrated stand-alone systems:
Membrane Nitrogen Generators are built and supplied by MVS as skid mounted, shop assembled units and include all equipments and instruments for generation of Nitrogen gas of specified flow and purity. Along with the core Membrane unit, a well-designed MVS air feed system consists of:
  • Air compressor system with cooler.
  • Moisture separator with automatic drain and high-level alarm.
  • Air heater to raise air temperature to around 48°C.
  • One coarse and one fine coalescing filter for oil and solid particles removal.
Long life: MVS only uses Membranes from the leading companies in the world and these have been proven a very long life in the field without much maintenance. It has been observed that Membranes life is around 10 years without significant decline in performance.

PSA Nitrogen Gas Generator

PSA Nitrogen Gas Generator
MVS is the oldest and foremost manufacturer of PSA Nitrogen Generators in India. We have been manufacturing PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Nitrogen generators for over 32 years and have supplied over 1000 such skid mounted units all over the world.

PSA principle:
This process consists of 2 beds filled with Carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS). When pre-filtered compressed air is passed through one CMS bed, Nitrogen comes out as the product gas. The waste gas (oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc.) is discharged back into atmosphere. Upon saturation of the CMS bed, the process switches nitrogen generation to the other bed, while allowing the saturated bed to undergo regeneration by depressurization to atmospheric pressure. This ensures continuous supply of Nitrogen to your process.

Models:
  • MS-L – Purity up to 99.5%
  • MS-H – Purity of 99.9 to 99.999%
  • DX – Purity of 99.9999%
  • Copper-DX – For Ultra high purity 99.9999% Nitrogen free of Oxygen and Hydrogen

Features:
  • Compact Modular Design: MVS incorporates the use of skids and designing the system in a modular construction. This feature allows easy transportation and easy installation of the system at your site. Our engineer is present at site to oversee installation and also to assist with commissioning and training of your personnel.
  • Reliable, well-proven technology: PSA technology was introduced in India by MVS and we have been the Nitrogen Generator supplier of choice in almost every industry since the early 1980s. We have German collaboration with the leading company in this field – CarboTech, Germany. We are still principle licensee of CarboTech and use their excellent quality, high life CMS for our units.
  • Low power consumption: The main power consumption of this unit is for compressed air requirement and very minimal power usage for the operation of the instruments. As compared to cryogenic plants, PSA units help you recover your investment costs much faster.
  • Long life, low maintenance: There are very limited moving parts in the PSA process and hence with routine preventive maintenance, MVS Nitrogen Plants give you years and years of trouble free operation.
  • Fast Startup: PSA units can be turned ON and OFF on-demand with the push of a single button. PSA units only require 5 minutes to start producing high purity Nitrogen and there isn’t a need for the unit to be running when you are not consuming Nitrogen. This is unlike the cryogenic systems where the unit has to be kept running whether needed or not.
  • Continuous, uninterrupted supply and guaranteed purity: When you install the PSA Nitrogen plant on-site, you are in control of your Nitrogen supply. If you are currently using cylinders, then there is always dependence on your suppliers and there is no guarantee of the purity of Nitrogen being supplied. With PSA system, you can be sure of the purity of Nitrogen you get with the included Nitrogen purity analyzer that is panel mounted. See Nitrogen v/s Cylinder comparison sheet.
  • High quality: MVS does not compromise on the quality of CMS and only procures it from our collaborators – CarboTech, Germany. Unlike the Chinese CMS that is available for much lower cost, there are no problems in our CMS such as excessive dust and low Nitrogen purity. While other Nitrogen Generator manufacturers may cut corners and sacrifice quality by using lower grade CMS, this is never a concern with MVS Nitrogen Generators.

Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Generator

Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Generator
MVS is the leading supplier of Water Electrolysis type Hydrogen Generators in India. We have built up this reputation on the foundation of innovative technology, reliable, high quality and very safe equipment. Our equipment caters to requirements across many industries including Thermal power stations, oil processing, chemical processes, float glass furnaces, cylinder filling and for heat treatment requirements.

Water Electrolysis principle:
Transformer and Rectifier provide input power as per electrolyzer requirement. In big size hydrogen plants input power to transformer is at 3.3 KV or 6.6 KV or 11 KV. While in sizes up to 25 NM3/hr, 400 Volts LT power supply is used. MVS Bi-Polar electrolyzer is where high purity DM water is broken to H2 and O2. Hydrogen is evolved on cathode side of cells and Oxygen on anodes of cells. This design makes Electrolyzer unit very compact in size. Hydrogen & Oxygen come out separately from cells into Hydrogen separator and Oxygen separator. Then these are cooled in heat exchangers by cooling water and separated from electrolyte by gravity. Then gases are washed by DM water. Finally clean gases come out through de-misters which are located on top of washers.

Hydrogen coming out from H2 washer unit has moisture saturation and around 0.1 to 0.2% Oxygen impurity. If higher purity is desired, then Hydrogen is passed through a Palladium Deoxo catalyst unit which reduces oxygen to 1-ppm level. Then to dry H2 gas, it is passed through a Molecular sieve Dryer unit where moisture is removed to very low Dew point. It has thermal regeneration heaters and automatic switchover Pneumatic valves. This is a No Purge Loss type dryer with no loss of Hydrogen gas.
  • Compact Modular design: MVS incorporates the use of skids and designing the system in a modular construction. This feature allows easy transportation and easy installation of the system at your site. Our engineer is present at site to oversee installation and also to assist with commissioning and training of your personnel.
  • Low power consumption: Besides DM Water, power is the single main utility requirement and it is paramount that power consumption be kept to a bare minimum. Hence, in our design power consumption only 4.6 KW per M3 of Hydrogen. At this low power consumption, our design is one of the most efficient generator in the market. Additionally, since our Hydrogen plants produce gas directly at 15-Bar pressure, for several processes there isn't a requirement of a booster compressor.
  • Reliable Purity: For many processes where Hydrogen is required, consistent purity is very important. Our generators are designed to deliver high (99.8% with 0.2% Oxygen) purity and very high purity (99.9999% with 1-ppm Oxygen) with the use of an additional purification unit. The consistent purity is maintained in the system by total automated operation and online Oxygen gas analyzers continuously indicate Hydrogen purity.
  • Ultra-safe operation: Safe operation is incorporated in our systems right at the design stage. Our totally automated machine allows for a safe shutdown of the entire plant in the unlikely case that there is any malfunction or loss of purity.
  • Safe operating environment: In our design, there is no Air pollution and no fumes. Electrolyte is in closed cells so there are no fumes in the atmosphere. This also prevents blow off gases and there is no spillage of electrolyte.
