QualityOutdoor activity involves staying and moving in unfamiliar terrain and hence participants must understand that there are risks. Nals does not guarantee your safety but will do everything within reasonable means, to
keep you safe. The risk of injury, even serious injury or death, is
unavoidable in the outdoor environment in which it operate. Indeed, much of the value of a nals course lies in learning how to identify hazards and adapt behavior, not only on the course, but also for a lifetime of
enjoying the outdoors. Good physical conditioning and a positive mental attitude are essential. Each participant plays an important role in the
success of a nals program. Due to wide variety of programs and
locations, it should be generally assumed that participants will sleep outdoors, generally in groups, sometimes prepare their own meals and are expected to care of themselves without supervision in weather conditions that can be extreme. Team leaders are qualified persons from recognized institutes or have great depth and sufficient experience in the area of work. Participants are briefed upon arrival, about the program schedule, terrain involved and how to take care of themselves. They are given a set of do and donts so that they are well informed.
