The design concept for hollow porcelains is dependent on the complete design of electrical equipment such as SF6 circuit breakers, Air blast circuit breakers, minimum-oil circuit breakers, instrument transformers, condenser bushings and lightning arresters. NP-INDIA accordingly finalises its design of porcelain housings in consultation with the manufacturers of equipments so as to meet the electrical and mechanical requirements, fixing and sealing arrangments and dimensional needs of an electrical equipment within the manufacturing possibilities of shape, size and dimensional tolerence of large hollow porcelains commensurate with provisions of IS 5621-1980. NP-INDIA apparatus porcelains are subjected to tests specified under IEC-233/IS 5621-1980. Special Mechanical and Hydrulic tests are also carried out as many be prescribed by the equipment manufacturers.
