Modern medicine has no doubt made commendable progress during last century in scientific diagnosis of symptoms, invention of vaccines/medicines and advancement in special surgeries all over the globe. However in spite of that, some of these diseases, like malaria, plague and small pox which were believed to have been eradicated, are now re-emerging with increased intensity. At the same time, certain new and more deadly diseases have started taking roots. During this period, continuous growth in vast number of manufacturing and process industries has lead to tremendous rise in Air and water pollution levels much above their threshold limits for human and animals, thereby giving rise to pollution related diseases. Besides this, simultaneous rise in population density in urban areas has inflicted another set of physiological and psychological problems.

At this juncture modern medicine has not made proportionate progress to commensurate with the emerging diseases to offer a lasting and safe treatment even to the ailments such as diabetes, piles, joint pain, asthma, infertility and impotency.
