Gold can be electroplated from acid, alkaline and neutral solution either as hard or soft, dull or bright deposits. Gold is extremely corrosion resistant and has a very low contact resistance. The important decorative use of gold are in costume jewellery, cutlery, watch cases, pen cases, spectacle frames. The colour of the gold can be varied.

Electroplated Silver which was developed primarily for use on holloware, flatware, tableware and jewellery has proven its usefulness in both decorative and functional applications. Its conductivity makes it ideal for the electronics and electrical industry. It is also used for light reflector and engine bearings. Silver has been successfully substituted for expensive gold in the electronics metallic lead frames.
