(Derusting and descaling chemical)

This an inhibited acidic chemical for removing rust and scales rapidly from ferrous metals & cast iron by cold/ hot dip method. It penetrates on metallic parts which dissolves rust from sheet metal components, machine parts etc.

Operating condition :

 

Concentration                  :     25%-50%

Temperature                    :      30°c - 60°c

Time                               :                               20-30 minutes (depending on the scale)

 

25% to 50% solution can be prepared with cold water. If used at room temperature, it takes longer time for removing rust, oxide and scales. The process can be accelerated at elevated temperature for fast removal of rust, oxide and scales, for heavily rusted components, wire brush rubbing method can also be adopted. However due to its inhibiting action, metal loses are negligible. So a bulk lot of metallic components added in the solution for cleaning purpose and no gas formation takes place and solution should be retained under control condition. Parts should be thoroughly cleaned and decreased prior to destining and descaling process. We recommend our decreasing compound or Eco-degreaser for such digressing operation.

SS-22 Acid descaling chemical is based on HBF4 and a Passivating reagent in it. It clean or removethe heavy, tight adherent oxide films regulating from hot forming operations, thermal treatment (Such as an annealing or harening) or welding.

Cleaning is depend on the base metal composition and the thermal treatment to which it is exposed.In SS-22 removal of normal oxide or scale layer and 25 to 40 pm of the substrate metal possible .The protective film then reforms in the air over the freshly cleaned surface. This oxide film is uniformand leaves the stainless surface in its normal passive condition. Although pickling is not strictly a passivating treatment so is most useful for localized cleaning of the welded areas.

A typical Cleaning sequence is given below:

1 Cleaning in SS-22 t room temperature in lead lined tank in the ration with D.M. Wter is 1:1.2 Water rinse first in PVC tank.3 Water rinse Second in PVC tank.4 Emulsion wash in K.C.15/2 at room temp. Dry in Sawdust or by Hot air blower.

Neutralizer - A is a neutralizer used for neutralizing metal piece after any acid based chemical cleaning. It provides a temporary protection from rust as it repelish all acid contents from the metal surface.
