Started as a modest Tea trading company in 1953, Neelchem laboratories then was one among several tea trading companies that sprung up during a time when tea market was booming. However, as with any other industry the boom subsided but the company had by then established itself enough to stand the test of time. Building on its experience with the Tea industry the company soon ventured into manufacture of Instant Tea. To support the cause a fully equipped Instant tea factory was set up and NEELS Instant tea was being marketed nationwide along with our black tea under the brand name NEELAGIRI SPECIAL TEA. The special tea was an instant hit and the company grew to become one of the largest suppliers of black tea.
By the turn of the century the company had extended its array of products from Black tea to Herbal teas, Herbal hair cosmetics and flavoured teas. The company has the unique distinction of being one of the first producers of Herbal tea bags(Dip Tea)in the country for which the company was awarded the GEM OF INDIA AWARD and the AIAC Business excellence award for "No.1 Quality of Herbal teas & Herbal hair cosmetics"(View the gallery section for photos).
Having established itself in the global arena of Tea industry and exports to countries such as the South Africa,Russia,U.K,Malysia & the United states ,the company realized the need to broaden its business interests and at the same time its zest to stabilize the diminishing global eco-system led to the inception of our sister concern SIVASRI ORG AGRI PRODUCTS. |
