About Us

NEEV is a charitable trust started by Anurag Jain and Shikha Jain, who are engineers from REC Kurukshetra. They left their technical jobs to join the field of education. After working with a few educational institutions, they started their own English medium school for the children from lower sections of society and the charitable trust NEEV in 2006. The NGO works in the slums and villages of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

NEEV stands for New Educational and Environmental Visions. Anurag and Shikha wanted to find out ways to make our lifestyle more environmental conscious and thought that paper and soap are two products which are very heavily used and are big pollutants. So they started experimenting with ways of making eco friendly soaps and paper. The soap that they made was liked by all friends alike. So they continued making soaps in small batches for friends. They experimented with making a lot of varieties but finally zeroed to the few.

At NEEV, they felt a need for creating job opportunities for the rural people. Soap manufacturing and marketing seemed to be a viable option. Since they were working in the rural areas, they thought of registering their soap unit under KVIC which they did in April 2007.
It was registered under the proprietorship of Shikha Jain.

The soap is marketed mainly through fairs and exhibitions. The soap has got favourable response from many of its customers and many of the first time users have turned into permanent customers. Presently there is only one rural woman and her husband working as a full time employees of Neev Herbal Handmade Soaps. NEEV facilitates two women SHGs in the vicinity of the soap workshop, whose women are temporarily employed in the soap work frequently. Many of them are keen on joining the soap manufacturing unit as permanent workers. The owners are waiting to increase the sales so that many more women can be engaged in the soap manufacturing.

Neev Herbal Handmade Soaps are made from vegetable oils (coconut, olive and palm oils) and purest essential oils without using any chemicals or artificial colours. Mild and nourishing to the skin they do not rob the skin off its natural oil.

All our soaps are made in small batches using cold process method which best preserves the beneficial qualities of our ingredients. Freshness, quality ingredients and gentle processing all contribute to our exceptional product.
