AirPak is a packaging material made of PE film and air, giving superior protection against shock and abrasion. Standard as well as custom designs are available in two and three dimensional shapes such as bags, cushion mats, pillows, filling bags and corner protectors. It can also be used for blocking and filling applications.

AirPak is made of PE film formed into a series of adjoining but independent air tubes connected via one-way vales. If one chamber is punctured the others remain inflated. Since the majority of the product consists of air, minimum material is needed which gives environmental and economical advantages. The product is reusable and one hundred percent recyclable. The good cushioning performances often make it possible to reduce the size and material use for the outer packaging. AirPak is deflated when delivered which means low delivery and storage costs. The only equipment needed is an air compressor with a nozzle and an air pressure valve. This clean, professional looking and humidity resistant packaging is printable and ESD film can be used to achieve anti-static properties.

During storage and transport, non-treated metals can corrode. Corrosion is a result of oxidation or aggressive elements in the air. Traditional protection materials against corrosion such as oil, grease or paint are time and labour intensive and not environmentally friendly .

VCI (Vapor corrosion inhibitor) technology protects untreated metal against corrosion/oxidation.

VCI creates an invisible molecular protection layer on the metal. The technology evaporates out of the different products (PE film, Pur foam, paper, tablets etc) to saturate the closed environment. Once the environment around the metal is saturated, a thin molecular protection layer is formed on the metal hence avoiding corrosion. Moisture or impurities in the direct air around the metal can no longer influence metal to corrode.

Double wall boxes are made out of two facings, two corrugated mediums and an inner liner in between to give five papers in total.

Loose fill is a void filling and shock absorbing packaging material. Polystyrene is traditionally used as a raw material but loose fill can be made of different materials. Corn starch and recycled paper are eco-friendly raw materials which are increasing in popularity.

This packaging material is very flexible and therefore suitable for products or kits of small series. It fills the empty spaces in the outer packaging and depending on the shape of the loose fill it can also protect against shock. Loose fill made of corn starch is one hundred percent biodegradable which is why it is suitable for composting or can simply be thrown in the waste bin without doing harm to the environment. The manufacturing process for corn starch loose fill is low in energy consumption and demands no chemical agents, only water is added.

Similar to the RePak T, the RePak L is a returnable steel and sheet material (6mm plywood) packaging solution with 6 hinges, however the RePak L has the option to be returned stacked without any pallet attached to reduce the collapsibility ratio even further.

Tilt indicators prevent tilting of the packaging.

If tilting occurs, the indicator is activated and this is irreversible.

An adapted label prevents the Tilt indicator to be removed or replaced.

Handles can be added to Nefab´s expendable plywood boxes to simplify handling. Cotton or nylon bands are normally used although a wide range of solutions is available for customisation. These handles are strong and can withstand weights of more than 100kg each.

The most commonly used handle type is the eight-rivet. As an alternative, a small piece of metal can be used to keep the handle in place. This solution is widely used for MoD (defence) appplications.

For packaging where an opening is allowed, a small slot can be made. With this solution, the customer has the opportunity to customise the boxes depending on destination or handling. Handles can also be made by inserting a larger hole in the frame. However, this solution is more common for returnable solutions, for example pallet collars.

There are also several locking devices available for the NEFAB RePak product range.

Not all locking systems can be used for all types of boxes. However, with its wide experience in returnable packaging, Nefab can provide a solution that allows efficient handling.

Adhesive tapes are used for sealing corrugated boxes and other packaging. Nefab can provide tapes in different materials such as paper, plastics or fabric in a wide range of width and thicknesses. This gives the best solution depending on application and area of usage.

Labels for marking and identifying the packaging are available in many shapes and sizes. Nefab can provide a wide range, from consumer packaging labels showing company logos, to those required for dangerous goods by law.

Temperature indicators indicate the maximum or minimum temperature to which a product has been exposed. Depending on the product sensibility, one wants to monitor the exceeding of a minimum or maximum temperature.

Nefab repak is a rugged and easy-to-handle returnable packaging system. Paper pad is an on-demand system consisting of a machine and kraft paper. In order to not tie up capital in activities that are not part of the core-business areas the machine can be rented. It is a flexible and reliable packaging system that is easy to handle and can be used for a large range of products. By providing different types of machines and papers Nefab can offer the most cost effective solution adapted to the customer’s specific situation. There are two different kinds of systems available. Systems adapted for conversion of single-ply kraft paper is used for void-fill applications and is one of the fastest and most economical systems for void-filling on the market. Machines for multi-ply kraft paper convert the paper into cushioning pads. Both kinds of systems can be integrated in the packaging area lay-out. Honeycomb is a packaging material consisting of kraft paper formed into continuous uniform hexagonal cells. Due to the wide range of applications, the honeycomb can be considered as both inner and outer packaging.
