NT90A can be used to totally automate Parking Lot Access Control. The reader has a range of around 1m. This helps in mounting the reader quite far from the entrance to the parking lot. There are 2 ways in which this system can work.

In the first case the RFID card kept with the vehicle driver and when ever the vehicle approaches the parking lot the driver flashes the card in front of the reader. The reader reads the card, checks its authenticity and then it fires the relay for opening the boom barrier at the entrance.

In the second case the RFID tag is stuck to the windscreen of the vehicle. When the vehicle comes in range of the reader, the reader reads the card ID and authenticates the same. If ID is authenticated the relay for moving the boom barrier is fired and access to the parking lot is enabled.

In this way there is no need for any guard to be monitoring the exit and entry of vehicles to the parking lot. The vehicles will be logged automatically and a total report of the usage of the parking lot can be generated.
