STA 449 F3 Jupiter - Simultaneous TGA-DSC


The new simultaneous thermal analyzer NETZSCH STA 449 F3 Jupiter® allows the measurement of mass changes and thermal effects between -150°C and 2400°C.

  • NEW: The fifth generation of the Proteus® measurement and analysis
software has been released.


The high flexibility caused by the various sensors, the great variety of sample crucibles and the wide TGA-measuring range make the system applicable for analysis of all kinds of materials including also inhomogenous substances.

Easily interchangeable sample holders allow the optimal system adaption to the diverse application areas (TGA-, TGA-DTA- and TGA-DSC-measurements).

Various furnaces, easy interchangeable by the user, cover the complete temperature range. (please see accessories)

Through to the vacuum tight design measurements at defined atmospheres (e.g. inert) are possible.

The system is controlled by a newly developed integrated digital electronic device.
The analysis of measuring data runs under a standard PC and the well-proven MS®-WindowsTM software.

The new STA 449 F1 Jupiter® (TGA-DSC) combines unlimited configuration flexibility and unmatched performance in just one instrument.

STA 409 CD- Simultaneous TGA-DSC


The STA 409 CD is based on the classic concept of a thermobalance in a vertically-arranged instrument with top-loaded samples. This design ensures total protection of the digital balance, which is on the bottom, through accurate flow of the purge and protective gases in a natural vertical path to the top, with optimal conditions for coupling FTIR and MS gas analysis systems to the heated furnace outlet. The variety of materials available for components and seals that come into contact with the gases means that measurements are also possible in corrosive gas atmospheres.

Single and double hoist systems for the different types of exchangeable furnaces open up the extremely broad temperature range of -160°C to 2000°C, supported by a multitude of sample carriers and crucibles.
The STA sample carriers are always equipped with a thermocouple for direct measurement of the temperature at the sample/reference crucible (DSC/DTA). There are a number of different thermocouple types to choose from, depending on the application.

The STA 409 CD is designed for simultaneous TGA-DSC or simultaneous TGA-DTA measurements. The TGA sample carriers can be exchanged with TGA-DSC or TGA-DTA sample carriers in a matter of seconds so that a very powerful and versatile STA is always ready.

When equipped with the Skimmer mass spectrometer coupling, the STA 409 CD becomes the most sophisticated instrument on the market for the analysis of condensable vapors that evolve from a sample at temperatures ranging up to 1450°C or 2000°C.

STA 429 CD Simultaneous TGA-DTA up to 2400 degree C


The robust STA 429 CD can be equipped with side-mounted motorized hoists for the maximum-temperature 2400°C tungsten furnace or for the Skimmer mass spectrometer coupling. In addition, top-mounted single and double hoisting devices for the different types of exchangeable furnaces provide for an extremely broad temperature range of -160°C to 1700°C.

As with all NETZSCH simultaneous systems, the TGA and STA sample carriers are equipped with a thermocouple for direct temperature measurement at the sample/reference crucible. Depending on the temperature range and application, a selection of different thermocouple types is available.

The sample carriers can be exchanged within a matter of seconds so that it is possible to switch between TGA and TGA-DTA or TGA-DSC measurements at any time.

The maximum-temperature TGA and TGA-DTA sample carriers are made of tungsten in the hot zone and have exchangeable tungsten-rhenium thermocouples. Because measurements are only carried out in pure gas atmospheres or under high vacuum, these proven sample carrier systems have a long service life in spite of the high temperature load.
