Keyless Transmission Element

We are engaged in offering a wide range of Keyless Transmission Element to our customers. Preparing keyway is one of the difficult machining operations because of the high production cost due to various operation involved. Lateral shifting of Keyways is extremely difficult. To set the center line of the keyway exactly symmetrical and parallel with respect to the radial plane, heavy torsional stresses are concentrated at the corner of the keyway so that shaft is weakened. If there is a deviation in key way width and it is not parallel to the axis, it would lead to inaccuracy in key. The cumulative effect of these operational errors call for an alternative system-key less transmission.

 

Keyless Transmission Element offered by us entirely eliminates the disadvantages of key transmission, conventional shrink connections and also involved calculations. The extremely close machining tolerances create problems while fitting & removing parts and during repair work such as adjustment and exchanging. The product offered by us however do not face this problem. Key & polygon connections and spline shafts can easily be fitted and replaced.

 

The products offered by us have varied applications in different engineering fields. The elements present in this product are known to have great absorbing capacity of kinetic energy by elastic radial deformation of tapered rings. By a simple method of expansion of the outer & shrinkage of inner rings, frictional shaft & hub, connections are established, which transmits highest torques free from backlash.

Elements -Shrink disc fitted on hub forms locking connection by tightening standard hex head screws provided, with standard tools. The same transmissible torque value can be achieved by varying the nominal dimensions slightly when using the same clearances. After loosing the locking screws, element is released and the hub can be moved along the shaft.

 

Elements of these products are most suitable for securing all types of bosses and hubs on shafts and axles.

Features
:
Torque transmission : high. Self centering. Low installation time. The concentricity varies from 0. 02 mm to 0. 04 mm (t. I. R). Interchangable with model n7012. During installation, model n7013. 0; 7030; 7032; 7139 have slight axial displacement of hub in respect of shaft, when tightening clamping screws. Model n7013. 1; 7031; 7033; 7134; 7143 have no displacement of hub. Application economically advantageous.

Installation:
Taper locking elements are supplied ready for installation. Unscrew all screws by 2 or 3 turn. Transfer 2 or 3 screws symmetrical opposite in the tapped holes providing in inner ring, slightly tight to separate inner & outer ring to make
insertion easier. Carefully clean the hub and shaft contact surfaces and apply a light oil film. Slide the clamping unit into hub bore & onto shaft. Reposition the transfered screws in holes as was. Tighten all clamping screws gradually and regularly, using torque wrench, in crossed sequence, in several pass, until the tightening torque (as per screw size indicated) is reached. The screws close to slit, should be tightened fully last to avoid deformation in the inner / outer rings. Repeat above mentioned operation till no one screw turn more.

Note: The tightening torque values indicated is valid only in case of slight oil lubricated assembly installation. Do not use any oil with molybdenum bisulphide or high pressure additives. Installation subject to corrosion,the slits should be sealed with a suitable caulking compound or rust preventives.

Removal:
Important: Make sure the ends of screws used for removal are ground flat and slightly chamfered to eliminate damage to screw and removal threads loosen the clamping screws. Insert (2-3)removal screws into tapped holes provided in inner ring and tighten gradually in crossed sequence, till the assembly is released. If the assembly is to be reused, re-lubricate inner / outer ring, screws and reassemble, reuse or store.

Tolerances, surface finish:
A good surface finish by machine tool is sufficient. Maximume allowable surface finish : rt max 16um. Maximum permissible tolerances for hub h8 & for shaft h8.

Torque transmission : medium / high. Not self centering. Concentricity depends on the centering guide between shaft & hub, its length & tolerance [i. E. Shaft & hub bore- guiding length - it should not less than twice the width of locking assembly & its tolerance]. No displacement of hub. Low installation time. Application economically advantageous


Installation:


Carefully clean the hub and shaft contact surfaces and apply a light oil film. Slide the locking assembly into the hub bore and onto the shaft. Hand tighten all screws lightly, align hub. Use torque wrench to tighten all screws, gradually and regularly in diametrically opposite sequence in several pass, until the tightening torque (as per screw size indicated) is reached. Check the tightening torque repeating above mentioned operation, until no one screw turn more by applied tightening torque.

Note: The tightening torque values indicated is valid only in case of slight oil lubricated assembly installation. Do not use any oil with molybdenum bisulphide or high pressure additives and grease.


Removal:


Loosen the clamping screws. Normally, unit will be released. In case of difficulties, insert 2-3 screws, into tapped holes (provided for removal), after unscrewing plated screws and pull screws by slight hammering & push back the released screws by light hammering to push back opposite thrust nut, till the element is released. If the element is to be reused, relubricate both inner & outer rings, thrust nuts and screws & reuse / store.


Tolerances, surface finish:


A good surface finish by machine tool is sufficient. Maximum allowable surface finish : rt max 16um (0. 016mm). Maximum permissible tolerances for hub h11 & for shaft h11.

Self centering. Very high transmissible torque. Wide double self releasing taper design for enhanced bending moment capacity. Runout : 0. 02/0. 06mm. Fixed axial hub position during assembly.

Installation:
Locking assemblies are supplied ready for installation. However, if for some reason they have to be disassembled, make sure that in addition to lined- up slits in all three parts-outer ring, front & rear nut are not reversed. They are assembled correctly only if there are no holes or threads behind taps in front nut [2]. Likewise, there must be no threads behind taps in outer ring [3] as illustrated in fig. 1 & 2. The frictional torque capacity of these assemblies is based on a
coefficient of friction μ=0. 12 for slightly oiled screws, taper or shaft and bore contact areas. A) make sure shaft and bore contact areas, screw threads, face of screw head
are clean and slightly oiled. B) loosen all screws by minimum 2turns and transfer at least 2 screws in each-in to push off threads in front nut [2] and outer ring [3] in order to disengage tapers for easy installation of locking assembly-fig. 1. C) after insertion of locking assembly on to shaft/in hub, relocate locking screws used for separation of nuts. D) hand tighten assembly & assure that nut is parallel with face of part to be attached to shaft. E) use torque wrench and set it to specified tightening torque. Tighten screws either in a clock wise or anti clockwise diametrically opposite sequence, using only 1/4 turn for several passes, until no screw turn more. The screws adjacent to slit should be tighten fully last to avoid
 deformation in outer ring & front/rear nut. F) still applied approx. 5% higher torque than specified tightening torque for 1 to 2 passes-required to compensate for a system related relaxation of locking screws since tightening of a screw, will always relax adjacent screw(s). G) reset torque wrench to specified torque & check all locking screws. No screw should turn at this point, otherwise repeat step "f" for one or more time.

Note: 1) Since the transmission torque & axial force are in fact, directly proportional to the sum of the pull of the tightening screws and as a consequence, the tightening torque of screw
2) For installation subjected to corrosion, the slit in nuts & outer ring should be sealed with a suitable caulking compound or otherwise.

Removal:

ground flat and slightly chamfered to eliminate damage to screw and removalthreads. Loosen the clamping screws. Insert 2-3 removal screws into tapped holes in front nut & 2-3 clamping screws into tapped holes in middle ring through clear holes of front nut, provided for removal & tighten gradually in crossed sequence, till the assembly is released. If the assembly is to be re- used, clean & re-lubricate both inner / outer & middle ring, screws and reassemble. Check the position of removal clear hole in the front nut & ntapped hole in middle ring is the same as it was. Reuse or store.

Torque transmission: Medium, Self centering. Too Low installation time. The concentricity error varies from 0,02 mm to 0,04 mm (T.I.R). A unique feature is the ability to mount hubless components. The precision-machined outer element ensures a perpendicular, flat mounting face. This allows the use of plate sprockets, hubless gears, disc brakes, etc., often at substantial cost savings. Problem weld-on hubs are a thing of the past.

Installation:
Clean contact surfaces of hub bore and shaft. If necessary, apply a slight amount of oil on both contact surfaces. Please do not use lubricants containing silicone or molybdenum disulfide. Insert the locking assembly in to hub & on to shaft, making sure the matching hub is flush against the shoulder at the hex flats. Position the assembly at the desired location on the shaft and hand-tighten the nut (clockwise) until the assembly becomes snug on the shaft. Tighten the nut to the proper installation torque using a torque wrench. See table for torque value. The hex flats on the outer ring are provided for counter-torque, eliminating the need to hold the component or shaft while applying installation torque. At full installation torque, the assembly will have slightly moved axially along the shaft away from the nut. If axial position is critical it may be necessary to loosen the nut and reposition the assembly.

Note: Do not strike the locking assembly with a hammer or other such tool .Over-tightening the nut coulddamage the Locking assembly and/or the mounted component.

Removal:
Loosen the Nut by holding hex flates provided on the outer ring
gradually, till the element is released. If the element is to be reused, clean & re-lubricate both inner & outer rings, nut.

Tolerances, surface finish:
A good surface finish by machine tool is sufficient. Maximum allowable surface finish :Rt max 16um. Maximum permissible tolerances for hub H8 & for shaft h8.
