Single- and three-phase special isolating transformers designed for the supply of medical-technical equipment in medical rooms. Medical transformers are used as power supplier for medical, technical equipment or other types of technical equipment that requires low current leakage.

Typical applications include installations in hospitals of computers, printers, analytical Instruments, surveying cameras, video monitors, etc.

Reactors / chokes / inductors / coils – often used for smoothing in rectifiers, reducing short-circuit currents, AC filtering, commutation in thyristors and high frequency switching.

Noratel has specialised on manufacturing reactors according to the customers requirements, demands and requests. Noratel is able to design and produce anything from small reactors for print card mounting and switch mode technique, to large single-phase reactors with heavy current coils for marine- and offshore installations, heavy industries, everything developed in close co-operation with the customer.

Transformers with basic insulation and protective partition between the primary and secondary windings. Typical designs are: 115/230 V, 230/230 V, 230/400 V etc.

Transformers without built in fuse arrangements must be protected against short circuit and overload with separate fuse arrangements.

Transformers with basic insulation between primary and secondary windings designed to supply a SELV or PELV circuit (<50 VAC).

Safety isolating transformers are often used for low voltage installations in processing industry, switch boards, shipping installations, alarm equipment, automation, floor heaters and halogen lighting equipment.

Transformers and inductance coils for electronic use based on ferrite and ferromagnetic powder cores.

Noratel can be of assistance with design, prototyping and manufacturing of many types of small transformers, reactors and inductance coils. We can offer an extensive range of machinery, which among others include automation equipment for wounding and soldering purposes. Standard transformers and inductance coils can be supplied insulated in varnish, wax or vacuum. The models can also be moulded in polyurethane, silicon epoxy and in vacuum if necessary. All products suffer a 100% electrical end test. Testing is also executed in co-operation with external test institution.

Isolating transformers with built in electrostatic shielding witch traps, absorbs and discharge noise on distribution lines.

Transient suppression transformers are particularly suitable for protecting computer equipment and sensitive electronics against transients, voltage spikes and earth faults, and they provide effective damping of interference from approx. 1 kHz to 1 MHz.

Noratel offer standard 1-phase models up to 4,6 kVA with 120dB attenuation, and 3-phase models up to 100 kVA with 80dB attenuation.

Transformers based on toroidal cores / toroids. Toroidal transformers are considerably smaller and lighter than similar conventionally EI transformers.
The construction is ideal in installations which require low magnetic radiation and where low weight, flexible dimensions and optimum conditions between dimensions are preferable.

Transformers with galvanic partition between primary and secondary windings designed for 3-phase systems. The delivery program includes:

Conventional and electronical transformers designed to supply reduced voltage lighting systems, most commonly 12 V halogen lighting systems.

Account must be taken of losses and voltage drops in the transformer when installing halogen lighting systems.

Vario variable transformers are ideal for silent and continuous adjustment of alternating voltage and current. Reliable conventional technology. Standard single- or three-phase models based on isolating or autotransformers.

Autotransformers are transformers with a common winding in which primary and secondary are not galvanically/electrically separated. This transformer construction is considerable lighter and smaller than a similar isolating transformer.

Some typical applications are:

• Speed control of ventilation fans
• Soft start of larger 3-phase motors
• Easy transforming of voltage up and down

Autotransformers are not able to eliminate earth faults, all earth fault problems will be propagated through the transformer, resulting in a considerable risk to safety.

Power supplies which convert AC system voltage to direct DC voltage, typically 230 VAC to 12 VDC, 24 VDC or 48 VDC.
Depending on the nature of the load, different demands are made on filtration of the direct voltage or content of AC components (residual ripple). "Advanced" electronics such as burglar alarms and audio equipment typically make greater demands on the power supply than DC motors and contactor coils.
