Our products are complexes of lead, calcium, zinc, zirconium, iron and cerium and other metal & possess lower level of catalytic activity. When used in combination with cobalt and manganese it enables the film to not surface dry hastily and thus harden through more uniformly.

All driers contain two major components, which is metal and acid radical. The most commonly used effective drier metals are cobalt, manganese, lead, zinc, calcium, iron, cerium, zirconium, and copper. The acid component is mainly high purity monocarboxylic acid, synthetic or non-synthetic. Owing to the uneven composition of non-synthetic acids, these are no longer used for production of high performance paint drier.

Primary Driers (Or Active Driers):

Our primary driers popularly known as active driers are organometalic compounds of cobalt & manganese that have most pronounced accerlating effect on film formation and have the highest catalytic activity.

Also known as surface or skin driers, when used in the oxidizable vehicles, cobalt or manganese  used alone, cause the surface of the film to rapidly set to a near solid while the underlying film does not even reach the advanced state of oxidation. This uneven hardening in thick films will cause the defect known as wrinkling.

Secondary Driers (Or Auxiliary Driers)

Our secondary driers are compounds of lead, calcium, zinc, zirconium, iron and cerium. Possessing a much lower level of catalytic activity, these metals, when used in combination with cobalt and manganese offer films that do not surface dry hastily, thus harden through more uniformly. Such films are said to through burden, secondary driers are known as ‘through drier’, and lead oregano-metallic complexes are the major drier of this type. Combination driers are mixture of various driers in carefully controlled proportions for ready use for various types of paints, printing inks.
