Computerised Control Unit

Thanks to the user interface, the unit can be managed either by infra-red remote control or by the control panel keyboard. All details of the vehicle being tested can also be entered from the keyboard, as well as workshop heading, configuration and test modes.

The data received from the testing equipment are acquired by a microprocessor controlled electronic circuit board with A/D converter.

The data are then processed by a computer before being displayed on a monitor and issued in graphic output form by means of a printer.

The management software is extremely user friendly and graphics are very immediate and clear with Windows-type screen layouts.Thanks to the flexibility of the software, diverse operating mode options are available, including:

  • "Manual" testing, with selection and performance of tests directly by remote control with repeat option (ideal for diagnosis).
  • "Automatic" testing, with pre-selected cycle without remote-control operation (ideal for controlling).
  • "Ministerial" operating mode testing, in conformity with legally prescribed test procedures in the various countries.

Thank to the modular structure of the software, further options include:

  • The control of links to other components like, for instance, opacimeters, exhaust fume analysers,headlight testers, for linking outputs to videos and graphics.
  • The control of network links to other computers (e.g., mainline computers, links with Vehicle Inspectorates,…).
  • Data Bank management, for constantly monitoring the vehicle/client situation, following its development over time and thus providing clients with a personalised diagnosis.

The software also features a starting autotest function with indication of any faults found and constant monitoring of all system functions.

The roller brake tester of the Ravaglioli diagnosis line comes in the following models:

 

  • RT095 4+4kW motor-drive Max. brake force 5000N.
  • RT102 4,75+4,75kW motor-drive Max. brake force 6000N.

Side Slip Tester

This unit consists of a measurement plate and a relaxation plate and ensures quick control of wheel alignment to determine any need for a more precise checkup on electronic wheel alignment equipment.

This drive-over test determines the side slip of the wheel, by which is meant the side movement compared to an ideal straight course over a distance of 1 km.

The purpose of the relaxation plate is to release any side forces already acting on the wheels, thereby ensuring the reliability and reproducibility of results.

All roller brake tester can be equipped with integrated weighing System (P models).

RT622 and RT630 brake tester can be equipped with self-braking motors (F models) to allow the vehicle to come out easy from the roller bed without running the motors, thus reducing the testing cost and granting a lower wear of the brake tester itself.

Control Units

The control unit represents the core of the system being linked to all the equipment.

It is available in three versions:

  • RT005M microprocessor control unit with 15" monitor
  • RT009M computerised control unit with 17" monitor
  • RT011M computerised control unit with 21" monitor

The sturdy epoxy-coated metal cabinet houses all the components for driving the linked equipment and processing the test data.

For standard test procedures, the unit is fully controlled by the control fitted in the lever pressure gauge (RT047L).

The infra-red remote control (optional) or the keyboard (fitted in the control unit RT009M and RT011M and, on request, in the RT005M) make maintenance easier and permit remote management of the printer.

What is more, thanks to the keyboard, details of the cycle being tested, the workshop heading and the configuration setting and test procedures can be entered.

The data from the test equipment are acquired by a microprocessor electronic board with A/D converter.

The data are then processed by the computer (or by the microprocessor) and displayed on the monitor before being printed in the form of graphic output.

The control software is very simple to use and features immediate and intuitive graphics with Windows type display pages that make test procedures easier in accordance with pre specified operating methods and in conformity with the provisions of the test regulations applicable in the various countries.

The software also allows entering headlight and visual check test data and delivers a single printout.

The computerised control units RT009M and RT011M also allow:

  • managing other networked computer links (eg., main computer, link with MOT, etc.).
  • Data bank management, to always have the vehicleclient situation under control and provide the client with a personalised diagnosis.

The software also contemplates an autotest function on start-up with highlighting of any faults found and ongoing monitoring of all system functions.

Clamp Devices

The locking device operates on the wheel not being tested and is available in three versions:

  • manual
  • semiautomatic
  • automatic

The manual version ensures the stability of the motorcycle with reduced costs and minimum overall dimensions.

In the semiautomatic version, just one vice driven by a pneumatic cylinder locks the bike on the contrast ( two lock positions) and ensures utmost stability for the safety of the operator performing the test.

In the automatic version, two vices each driven by a pneumatic cylinder, lock the bike and ensure utmost stability for the safety of the operator and extremely practical operation.

Both versions are made of sturdy metal suitable for vehicle transit to ensure the utmost ease of use inside the workshop.


Platforms Test Lanes

The pair of platforms are an important part of the brake tester and make it possible to perform tests easily and safely.

The left platform features two small sensitive platforms for controlling the presence of the operator.

These only enable roller rotation when the operator is in the correct position.

The platforms are made of sturdy metal sections suitable for vehicles (following removal of the raised sections, not necessary for operators of average height).

Motorcycle Speed Tester

We have in store for our customers Motorcycle Speed Testers, which are used to simulate the conditions of road load for checking two, three and four wheel motorbikes and motorcycles that belong to the international categories of L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5. These testers help in simulating the vehicle running on road at a constant speed, which is ad per the requirement of the regulation in order to survey the exhaust gases. This process is carried out through a rollers device, in which on of the rollers is electrically braked and comprises of pre-established characteristic braking power/car speed.
