About UsNr biomedical engineers was started by two young qualified entrepreneurs in the field of biomedical engineering in 1990.
As the name indicates: nr for narender & rangarajan both of them have graduated b. E. (biomedical) from osmania university. They were from the 3rd batch (1984-88), as osmania university has started the graduate course in biomedical engineering only in 1982.
the unit has been started in hyderabad as a partnership concern with the intention of catering to the servicing & maintenance requirement of the hospitals and diagnostic centers.
This unit was the first of its kind, run by qualified biomedical engineers having thorough knowledge about the medical equipment. In very short period, the company has made a name for itself as the only people who can put the abandoned medical equipment back into working condition, as most of the equipment were lying idle for want of service.
In 1991, the company has introduced nr service card wherein all the equipment which were out of warranty by the suppliers were registered for regular preventive maintenance and breakdown service. This was the unique concept introduced by this company in the history of medical equipment services.
The company has handled most of the medical equipment repairs right from the basic bp apparatus to ecg machines, mini x-ray plants, electro surgical units, suction apparatus, baby incubators, ventilators, diathermys, cardiac monitors & defibrillators, to name a few.
since they were interacting regularly with the doctors (the end users), one of the prestigious doctors who had built enough confidence in their technical caliber and capabilities requested them to make a baby incubator for their hospital.
in 1992, the company entered into the manufacturing activity producing neonatal equipment viz. , baby incubators, radiant warmers, phototherphy units, resuscitation trolleys etc.
Once again, it was the first unit to produce paediatric & neonatal equipment from the state of andhra pradesh. Since there were no manufacturers from this state, doctors were forced to purchase the equipment from the neighboring states of karnataka, maharastra, and delhi.
Soon the company became popular as manufacturers of neonatal equipment from hyderabad. The company introduced unique models of incubators keeping in view the day to day problems faced by the end users(hospitals).
Heater failure was a regular feature in most of the incubators made in india. Then the company introduced a unique feature in the incubator with automatic switchover to standby heater upon failure of regular heater, reducing the downtime of the equipment even when the heater fails.
In 1995, the company has been registered as a private limited company with the registrar of companies, a. P.
after gaining the confidence of the customers from their mother land andhra pradesh, it started supplying the equipment to other states of karnataka , kerala , maharastra, west bengal, assam, madhya pradesh & rajasthan, uttar pradesh & orissa.
The company has bagged the prestigious orders from
world bank aided,karnataka health systems development project, bangalore(with repeated orders - thrice, in the year 1996-97, 1998-99 & 2000-2001) to supply the equipment throughout the districts of karnataka.
World bank aided a. P. First referral health systems development project, hyderabad (with repeated orders - in the years 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-2000 & 2001-2002) to supply the equipment throughout the districts of andhra pradesh.
west bengal health sector development programme, calcutta to supply baby incubator - 90 nos. In the year 1999 and also radiant warmer 90 nos. In the year 2000 throughout the districts of west bengal.
Bharat sarkar (defence hospital) in the year 1999-2000 for supply of radiant wamers to various military hospitals all over india. |
