Sodium Metasilicate We supply
premium quality sodium metasillicate that is formulated using qualitative
material. Sodium metasillicates are used as an extender to produce economical,
low density cement slurry, which is used in many types of wells. Its specific
gravity (2.18) is compatible with all API cements. Some of other essential
features of sodium metasilicate for which it is used in cement industry
comprises of the following:
- Offers low-density slurries
that decrease the hydrostatic pressure on weak formations, thus reducing
the chance of lost circulation
- Furnishes higher compressive
strength than other extenders of comparable slurry densities
- Produces high yield,
economical slurries
- Normally dry-blended in the
cement
Benefits
of sodium metasillicate in cement slurries:
- Lower cost
- Reduced hydrostatic pressure
- Higher strength
- Reduces free water
Safety Precautions: It is caustic
and cause chemical burns to the skin and eyes. Hence, it is important to use special
procedures and equipment for personal protection.
