Mini Sugar Plants
Introduction
We at NSI EQUIPMENTS PVT LTD, design, manufacture & export Mini sugar
plants of capacity 300 & 500 TCD ( tons of cane crushing per day) using
the pressure boiling / Vacuum process route and Cane Crushers milling
tandems ( from capacities 4.5 tons/hr to 35 tons /hr. of sugar cane)
The company is a prominent designer of Modern Mini Sugar Plant in India. We
have been serving the industry for more than 3 decades & have installed
more than 300 plants in India and abroad also. Our plants have the best of
design incorporated Quality, workmanship & efficiency.

Mini Sugar Plant
of 500 TCD Capacity
Mini Sugar plants of 500 tones per day crushing capacity using the Vacuum
pan route/Pressure-boiling route are similar to large-scale plants having
smaller equipments, machinery etc. Sugar produced from this Mini Sugar Plant
will also be similar to bigger sized plants.
The existing Khandasari units (Open pan process) may also be converted into
Mini sugar plants. Recently the Government of India has allowed to use
Vacuum pan / pressure boiling system with tandem milling systems to all
Khandasari Units, with which it becomes a smaller capacity sugar unit.
The Capital investment on this smaller Capacity Unit is also very less &
it is convenient to install these sugar plant where availability of cane is
abundant.
The 500 TCD Mini Sugar plant can crush 80,000 tonnes of sugarcane in 160
days, which can be supplied in just 2000 acres (average yield of 40
Tones/acres of cane growing over.
These have an advantage as mentioned below :
- Low Capital Investment
- Less area under Sugarcane
- Less requirement of Sugarcane
- Operation & control of the plant will be easier
- This is no levy to be paid to the government
- Since availability of cane is from nearby sources of the plant, fresh
cane can be crushed, which will give better recovery
Plant Supply
NSI EQUIPMENTS has standardized the technology and will be able to supply
the complete plant / part equipment supplies.
Land
About 25 acres of land is required for the Plant & Machinery, Godowns,
Molasses tanks, Storage, Office Building, Cane Yard etc. The land should
have good approach road for transport of cane, Sugar, Molasses etc., &
should have water facility.
Building, Plant & Machinery
All the stations of Plant, Milling, Boilers, Power House, Boiling House,
Centrifugal System, Sugar House etc., shall have the building, the
estimation of which is about 20,000 sq. ft. for closed building. The
estimate close coverage of land is about 20,000 Sq. ft
Machinery & Equipments
The below mentioned equipments will be designed in house, which will be
most modern type :-
- Milling Station : Cane carrier, cane cutter, cane fibrizer, 3
roller x 4 mills, bagasse elevator
- Boiler House : Main boiler, feed water tank, water treatment
plant, chimney, I.D. & F.D. fans, return bagasse carrier, etc. the
boiler shall be of medium pressure/high pressure if surplus power
generation is envisaged.
- Juice Heater & evaporation Station : 4 Nos. juice
Heaters, 4 Nos Evaporators, with S.S. tubes, supporting staging,
condensate collecting system
- Clarification Station : juice sulphiter, juice clarifier,
vacuum mud filter, lime and SO2 gas preparation stations.
- Pan Station : 3 Nos. vacuum pans with S.S. tubes, with
condensers, injection pumps, spray pond, pumps, supporting staging,
storage tanks etc.
- Crystallizers : Batch type crystallizers for A & B
massecuite.
- Centrifugal Station : Centrifugal machines with accessories,
hoppers, sugar elevator, sugar grader, etc., will be provided.
Requirement of Other Raw
Materials
Though the basic raw material is sugar cane, for processing sugar cane into
sugar, other chemicals are required, such as lime, sulphur, caustic soda,
washing soda, other consumable like oils and greases, lubricants, gunny
bags, fire wood etc.
The approximate cost of these materials works out to INR.50/- per tonne of
cane crushed.
Man - Power Requirement
The manpower requirement will be of two categories
- Permanent staff – Managerial, clerical staff, watch & ward
etc.
- Seasonal Staff, workers – to be appointed during the crushing
period only.
The total staff is estimated to be 150.
CANE CRUSHER MILLING TANDEMS
They are offered in the following configuration, depending upon the
application, namely :
- With Inter Carrier( slat type ) but without fibrizer , feed
rake carrier , inter rake carrier
- With Fibrizer , Feed rake carrier , Inter Rake Carrier
