Aquablend 04 – Scale 
AQUABLEND- 04 is a liquid formulation designed protects ferrous as well as copper equipment from recirculating cooling water system. It contains no heavy metal formulation and powerful scale inhibitor to control precipitation of calcium phosphates, carbonate & sulphate. Along with a catalyst it also contains dispersant to keep suspended matter such as silt, metal oxides, etc in dispersed form avoiding deposition on heat exchangers.
 
Aquablend QAT – Biocide

BOILER CHEMICALS:

The primary function of a boiler is to transfer heat from hot gases generated by the combustion of fuel into water until it becomes hot or turns to steam. The steam or hot water can then be used in building or facility processes.

Fire-tube boilers pass hot combustion gases through tubes submerged in water. Water-tube boilers, on the other hand, circulate water inside the tubes in a closed vessel filled with hot combustions gases. In either category the boiler feed water and fuel often contain impurities, which impairs boiler operation and efficiency. Chemical additives can be used to correct the problems caused by these impurities. To improve feed water quality, fuel oil condition, and steam purity, these chemicals can be injected directly into the feed water, steam or fuel oil.

Chemical Treatments for Waterside of Boiler Tubes:

Aqua blend - 321 (Scale & Corrosion) 
AQUABLEND-321 is a liquid product designed for internal treatment of water used in boiler. It contains a corrosion inhibitor, antiscalant and a sludge 
conditioner. AQUABLEND- 321 is formulated for treatment of boilers using soft water.

Aqua blend - 310 (Oxygen Scavenges) 

AQUABLEND-310 is used to remove the last traces of dissolved oxygen from boiler feed water. It is a liquid formulation of catalyzed sodium sulphite
.It reacts with oxygen to produce sodium sulphates. The reaction is as below….
 (Na2SO3 + ½ O2 → Na2SO4) 

Aqua blend - 324 (Scale & Corrosion) 

AQUABLEND-324 is a liquid formulation designed for feed water treatment of boiler. It contains a powerful anti-scalant along with a catalysed oxygen scavenger. It reduces Oxygen corrosion and deposition.

Chemical Treatment for Fireside Boiler Tubes:

Aqua blend AD – The Fuel Oil Conditioner 
The residue fuel oils namely furnace oil, LSHS, LDO produced by our refineries primarily contain heavy residue namely asphaltenes ,poly aromatics and waxes blended with low viscosity hydrocarbons. These oils are high in conardson carbon which creates problem during combustion of the oil resulting into soot formation. Moreover fuel suffers from stratification that is sludge formation during storage in the tanks. 



Fueline - X (Stick & Bottle
) - To Burn Carbon
FUELINE-X is designed for the fireside cleaning of deposits in the combustion equipments. Sooting, clinker & other combustion deposits are common fireside occurrences in boiler and thermic fluid heater installations. Such deposits have to be cleaned manually by brushing. But unfortunately the cleaning is almost never perfect and cannot reach certain sections of the heating surface that have poor accessibility. The stickiness of the unburn carbon results in build up of incombustibles solids on the heat transfer area. The carbon acts as the thermal barrier reducing heat transfer & efficiency of the boiler. The effect of the reduced heat transfer is usually reflected in loss of efficiency as higher stack temperature is observed.

R.O. CHEMICALS:
RO System if untreated cause several problems like inorganic, colloidal & bio fouling resulting in reduced permeate recovery, increased pressure differential & permeate conductivity, frequent membrane cleaning ultimately premature membrane failure. RESIN :

Resin is a natural or synthetic compound which begins in a highly viscous state and hardens with treatment. Typically, resin is soluble in alcohol, but not in water. There are a number of different classes of resin, depending on exact chemical composition and potential uses. There are numerous applications for resins, ranging from art to polymer production, and many consumers interact with products which contain resin on a daily basis.

3 Steps for Resin Cleaning for Softner & DM -

1. Backwashing Phase: This removes dirt from the mineral tank and is part of the regeneration process
2. Regeneration Phase: The mineral tank is recharged with sodium from the brine tank solution and displaces calcium and magnesium, 
    which is then washed down the drain during the Backwashing Phase.
3. Rinse Phase: The mineral tank is rinsed with fresh water and loads the brine tank so that it is ready for the next cycle.

As water passes through the mineral tank, the positively charges calcium and magnesium ions are lost to negatively charged plastic beads. The brine tank holds a solution of water and salt that will flush the mineral tank and replace the calcium and magnesium ions with sodium. Recharging cycles are controlled by the meter on the top of the tank (normally once every 7 days).

DESCALING CHEMICALS

Purpose of chemical cleaning :
The primary reasons for chemical cleaning of boilers/ heat exchangers are to prevent tube failures & improve unit availability. Tube failures in low pressure boilers/heat exchangers are normally the results of creep which occurs when internal deposits produce excessive metal temperature. A relatively smaller quantity of deposit creates difficulties in high pressure boilers. Caustic corrosion & hydrogen damage, which occur only in the presence of deposits, may cause tube failures at temperatures well below the creep limit. Deposits originating both from fabrication & during operation should be considered potential problems.

All the pressure parts of steam generator may be subjected to heat treatment of some sort during fabrication or erection – during forming operations, stress relief, welding or bending. Whenever carbon low alloy steels are subjected to high temperatures in the presence of air, oxidation occurs, the oxide produced is known as mill scale. Mill scale on boiler/ heat exchanger tubing is normally very thin with the exception of areas near welds & bends. Even where mill scale is initially uniform its brittleness upon cooling may produce flaking. The resulting non-uniform surface is undesirable from the standpoint of corrosion susceptibility. During operation mill scale is rapidly eroded from the steam generating surfaces & may subsequently be redeposited in critical areas. Preoperational acid cleaning removes mill scale & serves to remove atmospheric rust which inevitably accumulates to some degree during erection.

After a boiler / heat exchanger placed into service, numerous solid constituents may enter the units with the feed water & some portion of the insolubles can be expected to deposit on surfaces. If not removed these deposits accumulated over a period of time can minimize the quantity of these materials; however, complete freedom from deposition is not possible in a high pressure system. The need for occasional chemical cleaning during the life of the equipment has become a recognized fact & should be accepted as a routine maintenance practice. A frequency of service cleaning of every 3 to 4 months is recommended. This frequency should be increased if individual unit operating history dictates.

DESCALING CHEMICAL

AQUABLEND-DS is designed to remove the scaling & corrosion products from boiler& cooling water circuits , heat changers etc. It is a liquid formulation to remove hardness & low concentrated silica scales that can be removed offline by circulating its dilute solution of the chemical. It is a balance formulation of  Hydrochloric Acid, Dispersant Wetting Agents & Corrosion Inhibitor.

THERMIC FLUID DECARBONISING CHEMICAL:

Thermic Fluid is the heating media which transfer the heat in close loop cycle.
It is available in two forms……….

  1. Mineral heat transfer oil.
  2. Synthetic heat transfer oil.

Mineral oil can withstand maximum temperature up to 280??C. Synthetic oil can withstand maximum temperature up to 310??C.

Continuous use of thermic fluid systems results in to deteriorating of Thermic fluid.
The main causes for deterioration are oxidation & cracking.

  • Oxidation: Oxidation at higher temperatures causes formation of sticky carbon. This causes choking of the system & reduced heat transfer efficiency & also produces acidic products. These add to viscosity of the oil along with increase in corrosion rate at internal parts of thermic fluid heating system.

 

  • Cracking: Overheating of the thermic fluid caused by insufficient circulation. This results in to de-polymerization of long chain compound. This localized heating above cracking temperature of oil. Cracking results in to release higher hydrocarbons which increases viscosity & reduces flash point of thermic fluid. Polymerization cause by these hydrocarbons form deposits reducing flow rate & heat transfer efficiency.
