Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd is a leading hybrid seed company in India. The company was established over 30 years ago and based on the strengths in research, production and distribution is able to become the largest seed company in India, in the process surpassing multi national giants like Monsanto, Dupont, Syngenta etc. The company's hybrid seeds are produced in collaboration with about 42,000 seed producing farmers and are used by more than 50 lakh farmers across the country. The cotton seeds supplied by the company are planned in 35 40% of the cotton area in the country and contribute in producing 40 45% best quality cotton in India. Besides cotton the company is also strong in crops like Rice, Maize, Bajra, Jowar etc. The company's R & D has evolved excellent hybrids in cotton by name 'BUNNY' and 'MALLIKA' which produce very high quality cotton fibre besides giving high yield to the farmers. The R & D of the company had also evolved several excellent hybrids and improved plant types in Rice, Maize, Bajra, Jowar etc. The company's annual sales are about Rs. 500 crores with a net worth exceeding Rs. 350 Crores as of 2006-2007. The company is planning to expand its activities further and margin towards achieving Rs.1000 crores turnover with a strong presence in all the major crops besides cotton by 2012. The company is diversified into several activities which include renewable power, IT, Infrastructure, real estate, sugar, textile, cotton production and trading, wind mill equipment manufacturing, etc., and invested subsidiary amounts in establishing these business segments.
