NEWSOmnisleep Solutions launches anti-snoring device [27-FEB-11]
Mumbai, Feb 23 (PTI) City-based Omnisleep Solutions, in collaboration with US-based Cadwell Therapeutics, today announced the launch of an oral anti-snoring appliance `Silent Sleep' which treats `Obstructive Sleep Apnea' (OSA). "Silent Sleep is a natural, anti-snoring treatment and it is a mechanical denture like material which allows more space for air passage in the mouth during sleep, enhancing air supply to the brain and other parts of the body," Dr Jamison Spencer, the inventor and the chief Technical officer of Cadwell Therapeutics, told media here today. "This appliance is custom-fit by an Omnisleep dentist," he said. "It must be worn before going to bed and removed in the morning and with the appliance worn, the person can carry on routine work like drinking water and talking," he said. Being a mechanical device, side effects are very minimal which can be rectified by the Cadwell Therapeutics- -trained dentist, Spencer said. Omnisleep solutions has a centre at Bandra which will be opened on March 2 and "we have plans to open three more centres in Mumbai in the coming months and centres in all major cities in India by December," its founder Jinesh Jain said. A study done by Omnisleep in Urban India has shown that of the 93 per cent of sleep-deprived people,63 per cent were suffering from OSA.
