The technology of world class binders has been brought to India through Ooms polymer modified bitumen pvt. Ltd. Ooms have four state-of-the-art manufacturing/processing plants, located one each in Mumbai and Chennai and two at Mathura. Polymer modified bitumen (Pmb) is produced indigenously, in centralized processing plants, under brand name Sealoflex. During past ten years in India, binders of international quality have been supplied for defense airfields, national highway, as well in public works departments in India. Three international airports of Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi, constructed under PPP model, have used Sealoflex for the construction of runways and taxiways. In addition, Sealoflex has been used in hundreds of km of national / state highways and many important roads, including raj path in new Delhi. Quality is the Ooms groups top priority. Each plant has a functional laboratory with trained staff for testing of product before dispatch. In addition, a central r & d laboratory with state of the art facility has also been established at Gurgaon, for conducting advanced testing and research. Indian efforts are complimented by an advanced research facility at the Netherlands. Many innovative products and systems, including Sealoflex, grid seal, have been developed in house. Sealoflex has been so successful that the product is now manufactured worldwide. In addition to its own products, ooms india is continually on the look-out for alternative top-quality products for road and airport pavements. Ooms are the sole distributor of st Gobains glass grid series of products used for the treatment of reflective cracks in pavement of runways and highways. In India, we have Carl bro heavy falling weight deflectometer (fwd) which can be used for calculating the Pcn value / residual life of the pavement as well as the maintenance measures, necessary for keeping the pavement quality at a desired level.
