Medium Reactive Polyester ResinGeneral Product features and application OC- 270 ortho GP auto grade is medium reactive polyester resin. It is based on phthalic anhydride with uv stabilized to protect direct exposure to sun light. It has good mechanical and electrical properties together with good sea water resistance. OC 270 is ideal choice for manufacturing of molds boats, water storages tanks, tankers, bath tubs, etc. Due to mechanical, electrical and god waiting properties it is specially used in marine structures to fabricate canoes, fishing trowels and amusement products for salt water contact application. Usage The automobile grade polyester resin performs best if the laminate is completely post cured. The quantity of catalyst and accelerator can be adjusted to get a shorter or longer gel time. The accelerator must be completely mixed before catalyst is added in order to avoid a direct blending, which may cause an explosion. Storage The polyester resin remains stable for 3 months at 30°c in the dark and 4 month at 25°c. The resin stability deteriorates markedly at elevated temperature especially when exposed to direct sunlight.
