1945 : The beginning of a success story. It was the year that a father-son team - the late V O Ouseph Senior and Mr. V O Ouseph Junior - founded Palm Fibre (India) Private Limited. The initial objective of the company was modest. Production and export of coir yarn. Plus limited ranges of value-added products like entrance mats and mattings. Palm Fibre was soon on its way to become a familiar name in the international market for coir and coir products. To strengthen the company's worldwide operations, an association was forged in 1965 with Gover Horowitz & Blunt of UK. And a new venture was born: Palm Fibre Gover Horowitz Pvt Ltd. In 1970, Mr. Ouseph jr's son, Mr. Mathew Joseph - a third generation member of this business family - took over the reign of Palm Fibre Group. And a phase of consolidation and expansion began. The production facilities were expanded and modernized. New markets were identified. New products, including certain non-traditional varieties were added. Jute, rubber and cotton were brought into the export basket. An entirely new line - authentic colonial furniture - was introduced.
