About Us

Paramount, founded by Sharad Nigam, has grown over the years from a state-of-the-art woolen yarn dying plant in 1984 to the distributorship of Clariant International, Switzerland (dyes and chemicals division) in 1988 to a carpet manufacturing and exporting unit in 1991.

Based in the carpet capital of India - Bhadohi, Paramount has built a valuable reputation for itself for innovation, exclusive designs, consistency in quality and a balanced and focused service. With over 20 years into the industry, our vertically integrated business model helps us control our products from conception to delivery and fight the competition with reasonable prices.

Infrastructure

Carpet weaving was brought to India by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century and today, a simple carpet weaver has grown into an artist. Indian Carpets are renowned the world over for their exquisite designs, subtle elegance, attractive colors and workmanship.

Dying: Imported New Zealand/Indian wool and silk are dyed into exotic colors in automatic plants using world class dyes. Designing: Full size designs are made by in-house designers on graphic paper for color coding and tracing on the weaving material.

Weaving: Skilled weavers use tufting guns to insert the wool/silk into the design traced on the cotton backing cloth. Depending on the design, the effort and skill required varies.

Washing: Washing of a carpet is done to bring sheen and luster. It is done with water mixed with soap, bleaching powder and other natural chemicals. After washing, the carpet is kept in the sunlight for drying and then it is sent for clipping.
