Life Cycle

Mosquitoes undergo complete metamorphosis. Their life cycle involves four stages:

• Egg
• Larva
• Pupa
• Adult.
  

First three stages are associated with water It takes 8-10 days to complete life cycle from egg to adult under optimum conditions. Mosquitoes have total life span of 30 days,

Mode of Treatment

As first 3 stages of mosquitoes are associated with water, the treatment is mainly divided in two parts

Larval Management: Larval stage is the weakest link in mosquito life cycle. Mosquito breeds in stagnant water. They are normally found in rice fields, overhead tanks, discarded tyres, gutters, edges of lakes drivers etc.

Adult Management: Adult management can be carried out by using following two methods.

Indoor & Outdoor Residual spraying: The mosquito control services consists of through spray of insecticides having residual effect shall be sprayed on inside and outside area of wall surface.

Fogging and Misting

Thermal fogging or Misting (Application of insecticides in the form of fine droplets) also can be carried out to control adult mosquitoes. This treatment is generally suggested for the compound area and gardens.

Roof rat : The tail is longer than body. They are good climbers and prefer food like seeds, vegetables, fruit and cereals. Most often they are found in seaport, so called as ship rat.

Norway rat arc large sized,. The tail is shorter than body. They are also known as brown rat and house rat.  They live in close social group and are responsible for transmitting diseases to man.

Bandicoot are the largest and most aggressive rat in India. They are sized active burrower and is responsible for much structural damage to the storage buildings and also spoils stored products. They are very good swimmers able to live in deep water rice fields, where they can cause much damage to the crop.

Mode Of Treatment

• Proofing

• Mechincal Measures

• Rodent Bait Stations
