Pest Management indicates (earlier referred as pest control) control of pest involving professionalized services working under different legal provisions for the control/ removal of the pest species with permissible means e.g. chemical, mechanical etc. and within safety parameters so as to maintain pest infestation at minimum level.

The strategy utilizes all suitable & complementary techniques with a priority on non chemical methods. If pesticides are to be used chemicals, concentrations, formulations and application methods likely to cause the lowest potential risk to non target organism are selected. Ongoing monitoring of pest populations & assessments of impact of control measures are essential.

Major part of pest management jobs in urban areas originate from industrial, residential & commercial sectors involving food, health, structural and ornamentals structures.
