Composition: Each hard gelatin capsule contains- Green tea extract, Natural mixed carotenoids, Lutein, Citrus bioflavonoids, Choline, Probiotics, Amino acids, Minerals and Trace elements.

Action:

Green tea is a complex product containing proteins, amino acids, xanthines like caffeine and theophylline, caroteinoids and micronutrients and minerals. Green tea is rich in polyphenolic compounds, commonly known as catechins. These include epicatechin, epicatechin-3-gallate, epigallocatechin, and epigallocatechin- 3-gallate (EGCG). Catechins are In vitro and In vivo strong antioxidants. This antioxidant property is primarily responsible for the health benefits of green tea.

Carotenoids Oxidative stress is an important contributor to the risk of chronic diseases. Dietary guidelines recommend increased consumption of fruits and vegetables to combat the incidence of human diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and diabetes. Fruits and vegetables are good sources of antioxidant phytochemicals that mitigate the damaging effect of oxidative stress. Carotenoids are a group of phytochemicals that are responsible for different colors of the foods. They are recognized as playing an important role in the prevention of human diseases and maintaining good health. In addition to being potent antioxidants some carotenoids also contribute to dietary vitamin A. Recent interest in carotenoids has been stimulated by epidemiological studies that strongly suggest that consumption of carotenoid-rich foods reduces the incidence of several diseases such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, diseases related to low immune function, and other degenerative diseases.

Lutein is one of the most widely found carotenoids distributed in fruits and vegetables frequently consumed. Its presence in human tissues is entirely of dietary origin. Distribution of lutein among tissues is similar to other carotenoids but, along with zeaxanthin, they are found selectively at the centre of the retina, being usually referred to as macular pigments. Lutein has no provitamin A activity in man but it displays biological activities that have attracted great attention in relation to human health. Epidemiological studies have shown that there is association between intake of lutein and lower risk for developing cardiovascular disease, several types of cancer, cataracts and age-related maculopathy. Also, lutein supplementation has been shown to ameliorate oxidative stress and beneficial in improving visual function in individuals with eye pathologies.

A similar dose of glucosamine sulfate has also been shown, in other studies, to prevent joint space narrowing in patients with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis.

Diacerein is a semi-synthetic anthraquinone derivative, which is a symptomatic slow acting drug for OA. It directly inhibits IL-1synthesis and release in vitro and down modulate IL-1induced activities and have been shown to posses disease modifying effect in experimental models of osteoarthritis and in human subjects with finger joint and knee osteoarthritis. Diacerein is known to exert chondroprotective effects in cultured articular cartilage and reduce the severity of cartilage, bone, and synovial membrane damage in OA. It also inhibits superoxide production, chemotaxis and phagocytic activity of neutrophils in addition to effect on macrophage migration and phagocytosis. In contrast to NSAIDS, diacerein does not block the synthesis of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, or leukotrienes but may actually stimulate prostaglandin synthesis, especially PGF-2 alpha, a prostaglandin with cytoprotective effect on the gastric mucosa and thus is devoid of gastrointestinal toxicity. Diacerein does not alter renal or platelet cyclo-oxygenase activity and may therefore be tolerated by patients with prostaglandin-dependent renal function.

Action:

  • Cetyl myristoleate, an oil, is the hexadecyl ester of the unsaturated fatty acid cis-9-tetradecenoic acid.
  • Cetyl myristoleate serves as a surfactant and not only lubricates the involved joints, but also lubricates the entire body, making muscles glide more smoothly over other muscles, bursas, and bones and at the same time softens these tissues making them more pliable.
  •  Secondly, it functions as an immune system modulator and also exerts anti-inflammatory action.

Action:

Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and has proven use for the relief of pain and inflammation in various conditions: musculoskeletal and joint disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis; peri-articular disorders such as bursitis and tendinitis; soft-tissue disorders such as sprains and strains; and other painful conditions such as renal colic, acute gout, dysmenorrhea, migraine, and following some surgical procedures.
  • Methyl salicylate is a salicylic acid derivative that is irritant to the skin and is used topically in rubefacient preparations for the relief of pain in musculoskeletal, joint, and soft-tissue disorders. 
  • Mephenesin is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant used for the symptomatic treatment of painful muscle spasm associated with musculoskeletal conditions. It is also applied topically, usually with rubefacients. 
  • Linseed oil is a polyunsaturated fatty acid and is included in topical preparations for a variety of skin disorders. It has been tried as a vegetable source of omega-3 fatty acids. It has potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potential.
  • Capsaicin is the active principle of the dried ripe fruits of Capsicum spp. It is used as a topical analgesic in painful conditions such as postherpetic neuralgia after the lesions have healed, diabetic neuropathy, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. 
  • When applied to the skin menthol dilates the blood vessels, causing a sensation of coldness followed by an analgesic effect. It relieves itching and is used in creams, lotions, or ointments in pruritus and urticaria. It is also applied to the forehead, presumably as a counter-irritant, for the relief of headache.

Action:
  • Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid), a water-soluble vitamin, is essential for the synthesis of collagen and intercellular material.

  • Ascorbic acid also modulates neurotransmitter systems by regulating neural receptor synthesis and facilitating the release of transmitters.

There is a large body of evidence that vitamin C plays an important role in the optimal functioning and enhancement of the immune system, particularly in the stimulation of phagocytosis. Leucocytes accumulate ascorbic acid after uptake from the plasma by active transport, suggesting an involvement of the vitamin in the normal function of these cells. Moreover, ascorbic acid also exhibits antimicrobial action.

Zinc is an intracellular signaling molecule in monocytes, dendritic cells and macrophages and it plays an important role in cell-mediated immune functions and oxidative stress. Zinc is also an anti-inflammatory agent. Normal zinc homeostasis is required for a functional immune system, adequate antioxidant capacity, glucose homeostasis, and wound healing.

In addition, zinc is a required cofactor for many enzymes, transcription factors, and replication factors. In non–critically ill patients, zinc supplementation has been associated with an improvement in markers of immune function. In critically ill patients, zinc supplementation was associated with a reduction in mortality and length of stay in intensive care.

Action:

Lornoxicam (chlortenoxicam) is a new nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. Lornoxicam differs from other oxicam compounds in its potent inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis, a property that explains the particularly pronounced efficacy of the drug.rthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute sciatica and low back pain. Clinical experience to date suggests that, as with a number of other NSAIDs, lornoxicam may provide a better-tolerated alternative or adjuvant to opioid analgesics for the management of moderate to severe pain. It has also demonstrated potential as an alternative to other NSAIDs for the management of arthritis and other painful and inflammatory conditions.

Action:

Tramadol is a central analgesic with a low affinity for opioid receptors. It also has noradrenergic and serotonergic properties that may contribute to its analgesic activity. Tramadol is a selective agonist of mu receptors and preferentially inhibits serotonin reuptake, whereas (-)-Tramadol mainly inhibits noradrenaline reuptake. The action of these 2 enantiomers is both complementary and synergistic and results in the analgesic effect of (+/-)-tramadol. Tramadol is a central acting analgesic which has been shown to be effective and well tolerated, and is of value in treating several pain conditions (step II of the World Health Organization ladder) where treatment with strong opioids is not required. Tramadol is used for moderate to severe pain.

Tramadol is a central analgesic with a low affinity for opioid receptors. It also has noradrenergic and serotonergic properties that may contribute to its analgesic activity. Tramadol is a selective agonist of mu receptors and preferentially inhibits serotonin reuptake, whereas (-)-Tramadol mainly inhibits noradrenaline reuptake. The action of these 2 enantiomers is both complementary and synergistic and results in the analgesic effect of (+/-)-tramadol. Tramadol is a central acting analgesic which has been shown to be effective and well tolerated, and is of value in treating several pain conditions (step II of the World Health Organization ladder) where treatment with strong opioids is not required. Tramadol is used for moderate to severe pain.

Paracetamol is a p-aminophenol derivative that exhibits analgesic and antipyretic activities. It does not possess anti-inflammatory activity. Paracetamol is thought to produce analgesia through a central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist with actions and uses similar to those of metoclopramide. It is used as an antiemetic for the short-term treatment of nausea and vomiting of various aetiologies. Domperidone is also used for its prokinetic actions in dyspepsia and has been tried in diabetic gastroparesis. It is given with paracetamol in the symptomatic treatment of migraine.

Composition: Each hard gelatin capsule contains-Diacerin 50 mg

Action:

  • Diacerein is a semi-synthetic anthraquinone derivative, which is a symptomatic slow acting drug for OA. It directly inhibits IL-1synthesis and release in vitro and down modulate IL-1induced activities and have been shown to posses disease modifying effect in experimental models of osteoarthritis and in human subjects with finger joint and knee osteoarthritis.
  • Diacerein is known to exert chondroprotective effects in cultured articular cartilage and reduce the severity of cartilage, bone, and synovial membrane damage in OA.
  • It also inhibits superoxide production, chemotaxis and phagocytic activity of neutrophils in addition to effect on macrophage migration and phagocytosis.
  • In contrast to NSAIDS, diacerein does not block the synthesis of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, or leukotrienes but may actually stimulate prostaglandin synthesis, especially PGF-2 alpha, a prostaglandin with cytoprotective effect on the gastric mucosa and thus is devoid of gastrointestinal toxicity.
  • Diacerein does not alter renal or platelet cyclo-oxygenase activity and may therefore be tolerated by patients with prostaglandin-dependent renal function.
