About Us

Priya Mani works with textiles as a versitile medium and applies it a diverse range of product and interior design needs. As a textile designer she works on fabric design for clothing, upholstery and interior spaces. She enjoys developing new fabrics and innovates on processes to produce new kinds of look & feel. Her work ranges from experimental techniques to more main stream design for fabric production. Currently she works out of her studio in Copenhagen and consults with manufacturers in India and Thailand.

Priya has keen interest in using recycled materials and new production processes which reflects in often in her work. She has over 6 years of industry experience in designing new fabrics for fashion lables, furnishing companies and architects. Priya is also passionate about using textiles as medium to create socio-economic projects with handloom weavers in India, where she has consulted with the Government of India. In the past, she has been the winner of 'Elle Decor' - Young Designer of The Year Award, 2003.

The more curious side of her has also set her off on a research project for UNESCO Parzor, investigating the historic connections between China, India and Iran that reflected in an embroidery technique that is fast fading away. Priya likes to mix mediums and works with paper, natural fibers and syntheic materials to develop ideas that transcend traditional interpretation of textiles. She has developed a design language that creates contemporary style using traditional methods
