Properties & Application :

Popfil ME  is light fast and gives level shades. Its ideally suitable for the retannage of aniline dyed and white leathers.

Popfil ME  is eminently suitable for the retannage of chrome upper upholstery, suedes and clothing leathers.

Popfil ME levels out structural irregularities within the skin.

Popfil ME  produces soft, full and tight grain leather.

Popfil ME  imparts a short, even nap to suede.

Popfil ME  increases intensity and depth of dyed shades.

POPTAN AL LIQUID

Poptan  AL  Liquid   is a  speciality product designed  to be used in chrome saving process and retanning of chrome leathers, based on masked and basified aluminium salts.

Advantages :

1).   Faster and more uniform chrome tanning.

2).   If used as a chrome saving pretan, capability of sorting and grading before chrome tanning.

Applications :

Poptan  AL  Liquid  can be used either alone or in conjuction with other mineral tanning agents in various process stages, e.g. in rechroming as a pretannage or as a dye intensifier.

Poptan  AL  Liquid  improves the nap of suedes.

Poptan  AL  Liquid   is also used during the retannage of vegetable leather to give the characteristics of mineral retannage, i.e. increase in shrinkage temperature, smoothness of grain and improvement in intensity of dye shades.

POPTAN NS

A light-fast anionic, safe neutralizing agent with pronounced buffering effect and complex forming action.

Poptan NS has an almost neutral reaction. Its effect is thus not based on alkalinity, which would be harmful to leather, but on its buffering capacity and on its ability to replace strong acids by weak acid groups with complexing properties.

Properties:

pH of 10% solution  : 7.0-7.5

Appearance              : A very light, cream coloured powder, readily soluble in water.

Chemical Character : Mixture of organic and inorganic complexing agents with buffering effect.

Poptan NS is a neutral synthetic tanning agent recommended for neutralization. It also gives good results in retanning and dyeing of chrome leathers and other mineral tanned leathers. Poptan NS has no tanning action of its own which means that  it cannot affect the grain of the chrome leather.

Application:

Poptan NS may be used either alone (2-4% on shaved weight) or in combination ( 1-3% on shaved weight) with commercial neutralizing agents such as sodium bicarbonate, sodium formate etc.

Used alone or in combination with other retaining materials, Poptan NS is highly suitable for initiating the retannage.

Poptan NS has good light fastness and owing to its anionic character, it provides an excellent levelling in dyeing without causing a pronounced brightening. The spontaneous reaction of acid substantive dyes with the cationic leather is weakened.

Poptan CSN is a combination of basic chromium salts and a light fast white tanning agent. The product can be  used as self tanning agent or as pretanning and retaining agent in vegetable and chrome tannage. It imparts to the leather a particularly soft handle and a tight grain.

Appearance             : Pale green powder readily soluble in water.

Properties:

Poptan CSN  is primarily used for the production of leathers with mellowness and supple grain without altering the chrome leather character.

The use of Poptan CSN retains fineness and tightness of grain and prepares the leather for level dyeing.

It is preferable to use Poptan CSN in powder form, 4-8% Poptan CSN may be used depending on the type of leather.

Poptan CSN is recommended for neutralizing and retanning of chrome leathers. It also has complex forming and buffering properties.

Applications:

For the tannage of low chrome wet blue to improve uptake, 1%-2% is recommended.

For the retannage of chromed stock, sides, skins or splits for clothing and gloving, 2%-6% is recommended.

When used as retaining agent for E.I. tanned goat skins, it imparts an extremely soft handle and fills up the leather without unduly loading the gain.

When used alone it yields white leathers of good fullness and highly resilient handle.

Quebracho Powder is a powder product obtained by chemicallly treating natural quebracho extract in order to achieve full cold water solubility and containing the largest tannin percentage among vegetable extracts. It is noraml spray-dried extract. It is excellent for drum tannage and also for the retannage of chrome leather.

Popquebracho  AKY  Powder  is fully soluble in cold water. It has the following characteristics for vegetable tannage :

·         High tannin content.

·         Quick penetration at natural pH.

·         Excellent tanning properties.

·         Uniform quality.

·         Not dusty.

·         Non – astringent.

·         Good weight yield.

·         Full compatibility with vegetable tans and syntans.

An anionic neutral syntan based on nitrogen containing resin (melamine syntan) for retannage of all types of chrome leathers.

Properties :

·        Poptan  FR6 is a spray dried, pale brown, free flowing anionic neutral syntan based on nitrogen containing resin (melamine syntan).

·        Poptan  FR6 precipitates under acid conditions and this precipitate, in combination with colloidal and other softening agents, has a selective filling action which improves the more open structured areas of the leather.

·        Poptan  FR6 when used as a Retannage for neutralised chrome stock results in a leather with a full feel, a tight flexible grain and uniform softness.

Advantages :

Ø  A tight and flat grain ideally suited to level dyeing and fatliquoring.

Ø  Improved richness and fullness where it is required most.

Ø  Excellent surface for past drying and subsquent buffing.
