Poptan FG is a modified gambier extract belonging to the group of catechol tannins.

Characterstics :

Poptan FG combines rapidly with the proteins of the skin in order to give plumped, supple tannage and fine grain with mellow touch.

Poptan FG improves the retannage of the flanks if it is used in combination with resins.

Poptan FG facilitates the buffing of chrome leathers and gives a perfect glazing in the case of glazed kids.

Poptan FG is a great dyeing auxiliary either as mordant before dyeing or levelling agent on leathers and skins of dark shades. It is recommended for the production of chrome/vegetable or vegetable lining leather.

Applications :

- Retannage of chrome leathers and skins.

- Mordanting before dyeing in order to soften and slightly plump  the  

   grain.

- Retannage of vegetable or chrome/vegetable lining leather.

- Retannage of moderately supple leathers.

Storage :

Poptan FG  maintains its characteristics unchanged if properly stored in dry premises protected from sunlight in closed bags.

Poptan DI is a synthetic replacement tanning agent. It can be used    for both self tannage and combination tannage in conjunction with vegetable tannins. It is also suitable for retaining chrome leather and for getting a very pale coloured light fast tannage.

Properties :

·        Poptan DI is a pale, yellowish powder, readly soluble in water.

·        Poptan DI is a good light fast replacement syntan with high filling properties. It is ideal for production of crust leathers.

·        Poptan DI possesses dispersing properties and it is very useful in vegetable tanning of goat skin, buffalo and cow sides providing the leathers better colour, fullness and smooth grain. In rapid tanning process, addition of Poptan DI produces leather with tight grain and mellow handle. The colour of the leather is lightened considerably. This beneficial effect becomes particularly pronounced in the elimination of the reddish tinge which is usually caused by the use of such tannins as quebrecho, mimosa or mangrove extracts.

·        Poptan DI is extremely useful in the production of glace kids where tight grain properties with improved filling in flanks is required.

·        Poptan DI is ideal for retaining of garment suedes and shoe suedes where very fine quality nap with good dyeing characteristics are required.

·        Poptan DI when used in retaining of semi chrome glace kids, produces a uniform, clean and bright dyeings essential for finishing and final look of the leathers.

Applications :

·        Poptan DI is particularly recommended for full and tight retannages on goat, sheep and cow softy uppers, and for the retaining of chrome upper leathers where fullness without looseness is required.

·        Poptan DI is used as a main retaining agent for dry milled leathers to achieve uniform break throughout the area of skin or hide.

·        Good nap can be obtained in suedes and buffing properties for correct grain side leather is good.

·        Imparts good, uniform dyeing on uppers and suedes when Poptan DI is used in retaining.

POPFIL RHN

Synthetic resin tanning agent for chrome leather based on aliphatic condensation products.

Appearance              : Pale coloured slightly viscous liquid.

Chemical Nature      : Anionic synthetic resin tanning agent based on acrylic                                      

                                  polymers.

Active Matter            : 30% ( + 2)

pH  of 10% solution : 6.0-6.5

Solubility                 : Readily soluble in water.

Properties :

• Popfil  RHN is  light fast and gives level shades. Together with white tanning agents, it produces a still higher degree of whiteness.
• Popfil  RHN is designed for retannage of all types of leathers to impart fullness, tightness and a fine break to chrome and semi-chrome tanned leathers.
• Even small amount of Popfil RHN will fill the leather without impairing the fineness of grain and will largely retain the typical characteristics of chrome leather.
• Popfil RHN is susceptible to acid and may precipitate at a pH below 3.8; and not readily miscible with cationic products ( e.g. mineral tanning agents ).
• Popfil RHN is perfectly compatible with synthetic and vegetable tanning agents, sulphited fat liquors, anionic dyes and other anionic products, if the pH does not lie below the specified limit.

Application :

Popfil RHN is used for retanning chrome leather to improve its fullness and tightness of grain without causing formation of a coarser grain. A dosage of 3-5% is recommended.

As Popfil RHN is sensitive to acid, the leather must be neutralised throughout the cross section before its application.

Popfil RHN tightens the fibre structure of the leather, thereby producing leathers with improved buffability characteristics. Thus the product can be used in the manufacture of nubucks, suedes and corrected grain leathers.

Due to its molecular weight, it has a selective filling action on loose structures of the skin. The product retains the full chrome character without effecting the softness and therefore suitable for very soft type of leathers also.

Properties :

Poptan SDF  is a pale, cream coloured, spray dried powder,  readily
soluble in water.

Poptan SDF is a light fast synthetic tanning agent for the use of both chrome and vegetable tanning. It is exceptionally stable to ultraviolet light, and in this respect it surpasses most other phenolic syntans.

Poptan SDF  when used as a retannage on chrome leather, helps in getting smooth and tight grain with noticeably improved filling of the flanks. As an additive to vegetable and/or resin retannage  POPTAN  SDF  improves the distribution of retanning agents in the leather cross section.

Poptan SDF   shortens the vegetable tanning time of pickle stock. By pretanning with it, vegetable tannins can be added at a much faster rate than normal to produce fully tanned leather with fine and close grain pattern.

Poptan SDF imparts a high degree of suppleness and improves the tightness of the grain. It has a heavy bleaching effect when used on its own on chrome leathers. The good dispersing effect of  Poptan SDF  results in deeper and more uniform penetration of other retanning agents. It has a medium strong filling effect.
