| PtA was the first Indian “Service based company” to focus entirely on Electrical / Mechanical Diagnostic Testing Services on Electrical Power Generation equipment. Since its inception, PtA has been acting with a corporate philosophy of contributing to the industry through state of the art technology. As a corporate Philosophy, PtA honors the commitments of time with multiple sets of test equipment and teams of engineers to meet the customers’ schedules simultaneously. |
Rotor Flux Probe |
| The Flux probe instrument is a sophisticated on-line monitor to remotely acquire magnetic flux data from air gap mounted flux probes in synchronous motor and generator rotors. Air gap flux monitoring is a proven tool used to provide information on the integrity of the rotor winding inter-turn insulation. This information is critical in planning maintenance, explaining abnormal vibrations and verifying new and rewound rotor integrity. Traditionally, portable instrumentation has been used to acquire magnetic flux signals from probes permanently mounted on the machine stator. The Flux probe system consists of a permanently connected Flux probe acquisition device which is mounted in the plant and can be connected to probes from up to four generators. This instrument includes user-friendly Windows™ acquisition software, which is used to store data from any of the four inputs on demand. Using generator load information, the Flux probe instrument can automate your magnetic flux measurements, freeing you from traveling to the plant, or having to be available during hard-to-schedule generator run-ups. |
Partial Discharge Monitoring Systems |
Partial Discharge Monitoring Systems are specially designed to detect discharge stator winding PD activity from hydro generator stator windings. To optimize electrical noise / partial discharge pulse separation, these systems are installed at specific locations on the stator winding. These systems are highly acclaimed for their reliability & easy installation and usually require about 3 to 4 days of effort per machine.

DC Ramp Test Set |
| In comparison with a DC or AC hi-pot test, DC Ramp Test Set is considered ideal to provide a safer off-line test of stator winding insulation. It holds the capability to identify problems in the stator winding insulation, where an unexpected in-service failure occurs. In these sets, a manually stepped and automatically ramped direct voltage (up to 50 KV) is applied to the stator winding. Consequently, the current that is received is measured & plotted against voltage. This set allows the tests to conducted in conformation with IEEE Std 95-2002 standards.

Wedge Tightness Detector |
Generator testing is performed with the help of a Wedge Tightness Detector, which is essentially an improved version of the original WTD-123. This instrument objectively & quickly measures the relative tightness of all stator wedges in a machine. It is provided with a redesigned probe, which is small, light in weight and can be adjusted to fit most rotating machines, regardless of slot size or depth. Being one of the most faster and accurate tests, electronic stator wedge tightness detection provides more consistent results as compared to hand tapping methods. In this regard, WTD Model 501 is best suited to be used to test all types of generators & motor stator wedges, including those with ripple springs.

Robotic Inspection Vehicle |
|
Robotic Inspection Vehicle is helpful in automated and remote scanning of the stator at a fixed speed. Magnetically supported, this vehicle holds the capability to carry the Chattock of the ELCID stator core fault test equipment along with the stator core of an electric generator or motor. This low profile (30 mm/11⁄4") robotic vehicle provides easier testing and more consistent results in comparison with an ELCID core fault test that is performed manually. To carry other transducers such as mini-cameras & wedge tightness detector probes and for ELCID testing, the RIV on large generators have always been one of the preferred choices of leading OEM's and power utilities.

Electromagnetic Core Imperfection Detection Evolution |
ELCID (electromagnetic core imperfection detection) evolution is an accurate mean of reliable and safe detection of stator core inter-laminar faults (cigre, 2004). It can also be used to test turbo-generators, hydro-generators and large motors.
ELCID (electromagnetic core imperfection detection) evolution offered by us has the following details:
