Awards / Recognition

One of the few companies certified by Director General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad (DGMS) to manufacture the Mining Cables upto 3.3/ 3.3 KV and lighting Cables to be used by underground mines.

Testing Facilities

TESTS
Routine tests as specified in the relevant specification are carried out on all the drum lengths of cable leaving our works. Type tests and acceptance tests as specified are also carried out on random samples as and when necessary.
Every lot of cable leaving "PAWAN-CAB" works undergoes on the following test at the final stage of manufacture.

ROUTINE TEST
1. Conductor resistance test
2. High voltage test at room temperature

ACCEPTANCE TEST
1. Annealing test (for copper)
2. Tensile test (aluminium)
3. Wrapping test (for aluminium)
4. Conductor resistance test
5. Test for thickness of insulation and sheath
6. Tensile strength & elongation at break of
    insulation & sheath
7. Insulation resistance
8. High voltage test at room temperature

Quality Policy / Processes

ISI :Pawan Power & Telecom Ltd., is following strict process quality maintained at every stage of production, from purchasing of raw-materials to finish products.The following standards are followed for raw-material at the manufacturing  stage / process IS:8139, IS:6474, IS:3975, IS:398, IASIMD:2863, IEC: 754-I, 339-I 540-I, SS:424-1475, IRS:63-83, 35-70 and IEEE:383, overall the wires, cables and Conductor confirming to their respective IS:

 

The responsibilities and authority of those in-charge of the quality system have been clearly established. These persons are independent from the pressure of production, and shall have access to top management.
Any change in raw materials and production related instructions are documented.
The minor deviation in performance characteristics of non-critical type are accepted provided other requirements of applicable specification are met with.

QUALITY CONTROL ACTIVITIES
The Q.C. Activities include :
a) Preparation of Documents : 
   - Preparation of guaranteed technical particulars 
   - Vendor rating 
   - Sampling Plans 
   - Production Instructions
b) Inspection and Testing of : 
    - Raw materials

DISPOSAL OF REJECTED MATERIALS
The rejected materials are sent by the production supervisor to the stores and the same are disposed off as scrap.

CHECK-ON QUALITY CONTROL EQUIPMENTS
The equipments are periodically checked and calibrated by independent labs.
