About UsPrapanjam was founded by Thiru Kumaran Muthiah an engineer graduated from MIT, Chennai(2005). His social concern and entrepreneural spirit led him to dream, plan and enter into the venture with support and involvement from Mr. Guna and Mrs.Roja. Thiru is an environmental care taker having constant thinking on rural development through action at grass-roots level in brave, innovative ways.As part of this thought he started this eco friendly handicraft production business with just 10 rural women working from a small rented building in T.Kallupatti, his native place.In 2009 Prapanjam was setup so that profits of this could be used to invest in rural development and creation of self sustainable villages.
Today Prapanjam has the capability to employee 400+ local rural women in and around of T.Kallupatti and had a turnover of ~5 million INR in 2009-2010. It produces a range of products for export across the world. Mostly we produce products derived from plants only which will not harm the environment and this is a best way to support the environment by waste management. |
AchievementsIn 2009 Thiru got selected to receive “International Achievers” award for social service by Indian achievers forum. In 2010 Thiru was awarded as “Star Achiever” with a gold medal from National Integrated Cultural Academy for best rural development organization. Apart from that we have also got reorganization and appreciation from nearby universities and educational institutes and other organizations. We are confident that this work will continue to thrive. Prapanjam is committed to its customers by delivering the products within the timeline with higly appreciable quality and quantity. Also, we do any kind of customization based on the customer requirement. We also take any kind of job works which will not harm to the environment.
