| | Silica Sand The PREMICA™ range includes the following Silica Sand products, catering to the needs of the global market: AGGREGATES : Aggregates are a blend of two or more grades of sand having a different particle size distribution and characteristics. When these different types are blended in a correct proportion the resulting product will have a unique characteristic and a correct matrix of particles that provide extra strength and better troweling properties. These aggregates are used in seemless floorings systems. COLORED : High grade silica sand is required in different colours for various applications such as floorings and decorative uses. PMC can provide a wide range of colours of artificially coloured sands. GROUTS : Grouting has become a very technical and requires very specific grades of sand. PREMICA provides these very high specification grades of silica sand. MOULDS : Very pure and clay-free silica sand is required to make moulds in the foundry industry. PREMICA grades of sand are most suited for this application GLASS MANUFACTURE:The silica sand from the southern state Andhra Pradesh in India, where PMC sources its silica sand from, has been approved by the largest glass manufacturer in the world, due to its purity (Silica content - 99.8%). This same grade can be supplied by PMC. Click on (Download ) to view the Material Safety Data Sheets. | | Send Business Enquiry |
| | Garnet The latest addition to PMC’s list of minerals is Garnet – Almandine. This is mined at PMC’s own Sri Venkata Sai Mines, located in Nellore Dist. AP. Almandine Garnet (sometimes wrongly referred to as Almandite) is twelve sided crystal. It is a very hard material with a Moh’s Scale hardness of 6.5 to 7.5. This garnet is not got from beach sands like most other garnets in India and so is very eco-friendly. When garnet is mined from beach sand, large areas of the beach gets polluted and spoilt.Garnet is a very safe and eco-friendly material which can be used in various applications. - Abrasives-Sand Paper, Cutting and Grinding Wheels.
- Sand Blasting -Cleaning and preparing of metal surfaces,Ship body Cleaning,Oil Refineries and out door equipment.
- Cutting -High Pressure Water Jet Cutting
- Water Filters-Water Medium
As a medium for sand blasting, Garnet is the preferred over Silica Sand, Quartz and metal slag. Garnet can be reused several and is non-polluting. And the fine dust produced during blasting is not carcinogenic like it is for Silica Sand or quartz. Processing : - The Garnet from the mines is cleaned with water to remove the mud and non garnet materials.
- These are ground in mills.
- Material is then sieved on vibro-sieves to get the required grain sizing.
- Finished product is tested in the lab and packed as per requirement.

| | Wet Ground Mica Powder Manufactured from the purest muscovite mica, by a slow, frictional delamination process, this unique mica powder finds a wide variety of applications in industries like rubber, plastics, paints and cosmetics.PREMICA™ wet ground mica is processed in ceramic lined mills to prevent metal contamination, thereby ensuring a product of the highest purity. The PREMICA™ wet ground mica conforms to ASTM standards (D-607-75).PREMICA™ increases flexural strength and modules, raises heat deflection temperature and reduces wrapage and shrinkage. As a result, PREMICA™ is in great demand as a filler, especially where thermal and structural stability are important considerations. PREMICA™'s natural sheen and lustre coupled with the advantages of being non-toxic and non-carcinogenic, makes it an excellent raw material in the cosmetics, paints, plastics and pigments manufacturing industries. PREMICA™-ACL is a super-fine grade of wet ground mica, with an average particle size of 2 - 5 microns. This distinct product from PMC is intended for high-end, specialised applications in industries. The above regular grade mica products are also available as PREMICA™ (W), which has a gloss reflectance of 82% against 100% MgO. This product has a much whiter colour and hence finds great importance in the paints and cosmetics industries. The specifications of PREMICA™ (W) are the same as that of our regular grades. In addition to the above regular grades of wet ground mica, PMC also produces custom grade mica designed to meet the specific requirements of our individual clients. If you are looking for mica products, which should meet certain specifications for your industry, please contact us with your requirements. We are sure that we can match your expectations and deliver world class mica as per your requirements. Click on ( Download ) to view material safety data sheets. | | Send Business Enquiry |
| | Exfoliated / Expanded Vermiculite PREMICA exfoliated vermiculite is of very high standard. The material has very low grit content and low density. The standard grades are used in Horticulture, animal feeds and Gypsum Boards. The high specification grades are used in the manufacture of brake linings, clutch facings and fire proofing materials.Click on ( Download ) to view more Detailed information and Material Safety Data Sheet.
Applications:
Root Cuttings: Medium and fine grade vermiculite is used for this. Vermiculite is filled in bags or pots and watered throughly. Then the cutting is inserted into the vermiculite. And if the container has sufficient drainage, over wetting or watering normally is not a serious concern.Soil Amending or soil conditioning: When the natural soil is heavy and sticky, vermicuite can be mixed in proportions of up to half the volume of the soil. This creates air channels and allows the soil mix to breathe. When the natural soil is sandy, the use of vermiculite will help the soil hold the moisture and air needed for growth.Mixing vermiculite in flower and vegetable gardens or in potted plants will provide necessary air and moisture to maintain vigorous plant growth.
Seed Germination: Vermiculite can be alone or mixed with soil. Very little watering will be required. There will be more and faster germination. When used alone, seed should be fed with a weak fertilizer solution when the first true leaves appear. When mixed with half of soil, peat or composted no additional feeding is required up to the time of transplanting.Because vermiculite is sterile, the threat of damping-off is virtually eliminated. Later the seedlings can be removed from the vermiculite with little danger of breaking-off of the hair roots and the dense root growth enables the young plants to take hold immediately.
House Plants and Containers; Vermiculite eliminates the problem of compacted soil in pots. When it is mixed half and half with soil or compost it provides excellent aeration and moisture control. It also lightens the mix so that large pots can be placed on shelves or hung from the ceiling.
Storing Bulbs & Root Crops: Vermiculite provides a good storing medium for bulbs and tubers. The absorptive power of vermiculite acts as a regulator that prevents mildew and moisture flucuation during the storage perod. It does not take moisture from the bulbs but takes up free water from the outside, preventing storage rot. It also protects the tuber from out side temperature changes.
